Senior Finance Business Analyst - Mercy Virtual & Population Health

Lead efforts in evaluating the efficiency and effectiveness of internal controls utilizing CAATs (Computer Assisted Audit Tools) based on the current projects and business need. In addition prepare documentation and reports to communicate findings and recommendations to senior leadership under general supervision of the Senior Vice President Compliance. Has a solid understanding of general controls, best practices, and business processes. Responsible for on-going monitoring and support of the ACL infrastructure and contributes to the overall department wide goals and objectives. In addition, work with process owners to define, develop and execute data analytics and implement continuous monitoring to evaluate, support, and enhance business processes. This includes leading efforts to define business requirements, identifying and extracting data, executing analyses, and preparing written documentation and deliverables. Serves as system administrator for Compliance Department matters tracking database and other modules that are included within that application. Serves as a resource to assist with the development of statistically valid samples for purposes of compliance auditing. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards.

Responsible for leading ACL data efforts. Through the use of a data analysis tool (ACL) participates in the evaluation of the adequacy, effectiveness and efficiency of internal controls, processes and identifies weakness/ opportunities for improvement, along with providing recommendations to mitigate or strengthen controls. This position proactively works with Compliance and Medical Documentation Department co-workers to provide guidance and support on internal projects related to data retrieval, analysis, and other computer assisted audit techniques

Position Details:

Minimum Required Qualifications
Education:
Four-year college degree in Accounting, Information Systems or a technology-related field.

Experience:
Audit experience and /or experience with Computer Assisted Audit Tools (ACL)

Certification/Registration:

Other Skills and Knowledge:
Advanced knowledge of AuditExchange and scripting in ACL
Strong analytical skills, interpersonal, organizational and oral/written communication skills
Self-directed, and able to work independently
Proven ability to meet goals and work at a high performance level
Ability to work within a team environment and interacting with management
Superior skills in the extraction, merging and transformation of large data sets across systems and databases environments; at least three years ACL experience required
Data analysis skills, with experience in designing analytical approach/methodology, identifying key findings, and producing output for a non-technical audience
Experience using relational database platforms including SQL and Oracle required



Preferred Qualifications
Certification/Registration:
Professional Certification (ACDA, CISA, CIA, CPA) or advanced degree preferred.

Other Skills and Knowledge:
Healthcare experience preferred.

Our Mercy health system was founded by the Sisters of Mercy in 1986. But our heritage goes back more than 195 years. It began with an Irish woman named Catherine McAuley, who was determined to help women and children in Dublin experiencing poverty. Though Catherine had a modest upbringing, she received an unexpected inheritance that allowed her to fulfill that dream. In 1827, she opened the first House of Mercy in Dublin, intending to teach skills to women and educate children. Many volunteers came to help.

A few years later, Catherine founded the Sisters of Mercy, one of the first religious orders whose Sisters were free to walk among the poor and visit them in their homes. In 1843, the Sisters of Mercy came to the United States. In 1856, they traveled to St. Louis. In the years to come, they would establish hospitals throughout the Midwest. Many of these would join together in 1986 as Mercy.
