Role Summary

We are seeking an experienced Senior Finance Manager to lead the Finance function across MDx CRO and support the management of our international operations.

The role covers financial management across our different legal entities, including group reporting and consolidation, budgeting and forecasting, cash-flow management, financial controls, project profitability and management information.

In addition to Finance, you will provide management oversight of People & Culture, Corporate Operations and Procurement, working closely with the President, CEO, Head of Business and other senior leaders.

This is a hands-on role suited to someone with a strong financial background who enjoys bringing structure to a growing international organisation, improving how information is used for decision-making, and finding better ways to run internal processes.

Key Responsibilities

You will:

• Lead the Finance function across MDx CRO and coordinate financial activities across our different legal entities

• Prepare monthly management accounts and consolidated financial reporting for Executive Management

• Lead the annual budgeting process, rolling forecasts and periodic reforecasts

• Maintain and develop the group business plan and financial scenarios

• Monitor revenue, gross margin, EBIT, operating expenses, personnel costs and other key financial indicators

• Manage cash-flow forecasting, treasury, working capital and financial planning

• Oversee accounts receivable, collections, accounts payable and supplier payments

• Coordinate intercompany transactions and reconciliations across the group

• Coordinate external accountants, auditors, tax advisers and other financial service providers across different jurisdictions

• Support statutory accounts, audits, tax filings and other financial obligations

• Develop management dashboards and improve the quality and timeliness of financial and operational reporting

• Monitor project profitability and support improved visibility of project financial performance

• Support headcount planning, personnel-cost forecasting and recruitment decisions

• Work with the Head of Business on revenue forecasts, pipeline assumptions, pricing and margin analysis

• Provide financial analysis to support strategic, investment and operational decisions

• Maintain appropriate financial controls, approval processes and segregation of duties

People & Culture and Corporate Operations

You will also:

• Provide management oversight of the People & Culture function while day-to-day HR activities remain with the People & Culture team

• Support workforce planning, headcount management and personnel-cost budgeting

• Provide financial oversight of payroll, compensation reviews, salary structures, benefits and bonus frameworks

• Review HR KPIs and support the development of efficient People & Culture processes

• Coordinate key corporate and administrative processes across the organisation

• Provide oversight of procurement, purchasing controls, major suppliers and recurring corporate expenditure

• Support the coordination of external employment, corporate and other professional advisers when required

• Help ensure that internal processes remain efficient and appropriate as MDx continues to grow

Process Improvement and Automation

A key part of the role will be improving how MDx operates internally.

You will:

• Identify financial and administrative activities that can be simplified or automated

• Reduce unnecessary manual reporting and spreadsheet-based processes

• Improve the consistency and reliability of management information

• Work with internal teams to improve integration between Finance, HR, project-management and other corporate systems

• Promote the appropriate use of automation, AI and digital tools to reduce administrative workload

• Establish clear ownership and efficient workflows for recurring corporate activities

• Measure whether implemented improvements generate meaningful time savings, cost reductions or improvements in information quality

IT, cybersecurity and data privacy remain under their respective specialist functions. The Senior Finance Manager will work closely with these teams where Finance, HR or corporate processes require coordination.

Requirements

Must-Have

• Approximately 7+ years of relevant experience in Finance, Accounting, Controlling, Audit or Financial Advisory

• Strong experience in financial management, management reporting, budgeting and forecasting

• Experience preparing or coordinating monthly financial reporting

• Good understanding of cash-flow, treasury and working-capital management

• Strong analytical and financial-modelling capabilities

• Experience working with multiple legal entities, international operations or group reporting

• Advanced Excel skills and confidence working with financial and management information systems

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration or a related discipline

• Advanced written and verbal English

• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in an international environment

• Availability for remote work with occasional in-person activities

Nice to Have

• Previous experience at a Big Four firm or another recognised audit, accounting or financial advisory firm

• Experience combining an audit or advisory background with an internal corporate Finance role

• Experience with group consolidation

• Experience working across Portugal, Spain, the UK or other European jurisdictions

• Experience in professional services, consulting, CRO, MedTech, life sciences or another project-based organisation

• Experience with ERP, HRIS, CRM or project-management systems

• Experience improving or automating financial and administrative processes

• Exposure to People & Culture, procurement or broader corporate operations

• Professional accounting or finance qualification, such as ACCA, ACA or equivalent
