Senior Finance Officer – Investment Administration - NSW Trustee and Guardian

  • 1x Ongoing vacancy. 35 hours per week.
  • Location: Parramatta. Flexible and hybrid working options available.
  • Clerk Grade: 5/6. Base salary $116,981 to $129,492 per annum, plus superannuation, plus leave loading

The agency supports the NSW Trustee, the Public Guardian and the Commissioner of Dormant Funds to carry out their statutory functions. We do this by providing a range of customer-centred services, including Will-making, trustee, financial management and guardianship services, including some for the state’s most vulnerable people.

About the team

Financial Performance and Investments comprises teams supporting the financial and investment needs of our clients as well as maintaining, enhancing, and protecting their assets. These services cover the management of properties, shares, investments, and other personal assets; the processing of customer and third-party payments and receipts; the handling of a range of taxation matters; developing financial plans and budgets to support our customers; and providing corporate frameworks, tools and services for Procurement, Project Management Governance, and Budgeting and Reporting to the organisation.

About the role

As a Senior Finance Officer, Investment Administration, you will play a key role in the accounting, reporting and administration of investments managed on behalf of NSW Trustee and Guardian customers. You will oversee investment transactions, reconciliations and reporting, provide guidance and support to a small team of up to two Finance Officers, and work closely with stakeholders to ensure accurate, timely and compliant financial outcomes. This role offers the opportunity to lead day-to-day operations, resolve complex issues and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across the Investment Administration team

About you

Application is encouraged if you demonstrate the following skills, knowledge and experience:

  • Experience in fund accounting, investment administration or a similar finance environment.
  • Strong financial reconciliation, reporting and analytical skills, with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to provide advice and resolve complex enquiries.
  • Experience working collaboratively within a team and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or equivalent experience in accounting, finance or a related discipline.
