About the role

We are looking for a Senior Financial Accountant to join our Finance team, with a broad and transversal view of the finance function.

The role is primarily focused on financial accounting, month-end closing, account analysis and financial reporting, while also contributing to controlling, internal controls, process improvement and automation.

We are looking for someone who is analytical, autonomous and hands-on, with strong technical accounting knowledge and the ability to manage responsibilities end-to-end, identify issues and opportunities for improvement, and ensure the accuracy and reliability of financial information.



Key responsibilities

Financial Accounting

  • Manage and support the monthly and year-end closing processes.
  • Review and analyse balance sheet and P&L accounts, identifying discrepancies and areas requiring attention.
  • Perform account reconciliations and ensure the accuracy, consistency and completeness of financial information.
  • Prepare and support financial reporting and analysis.
  • Ensure accounting transactions and balances are properly recorded and supported.
  • Collaborate with Accounting and other Finance teams on accounting-related matters.
  • Support the resolution of accounting issues and ensure appropriate follow-up.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of accounting processes and procedures.

Controlling & Financial Analysis

  • Monitor financial performance and analyse deviations versus budget, forecast and previous periods.
  • Prepare and follow up on KPIs and management reporting.
  • Provide financial analysis and insights to support business decision-making.
  • Work closely with different stakeholders across the business to understand financial performance and identify areas for improvement.

Audit & Internal Controls

  • Support internal and external audit processes, ensuring the timely preparation of requested information and documentation.
  • Review existing accounting processes and controls and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Contribute to strengthening the reliability, traceability and quality of financial information.
  • Ensure appropriate documentation and supporting evidence for accounting and financial processes.

Process Improvement & Automation

  • Identify opportunities to simplify, standardise and automate accounting and financial processes.
  • Drive improvements that reduce manual tasks and increase efficiency.
  • Leverage digital tools and systems to improve accounting processes, reporting and data quality.
  • Work cross-functionally to implement more efficient and scalable ways of working.
  • Promote continuous improvement within Finance.

Ownership & Stakeholder Management

  • Take ownership of assigned accounting processes and responsibilities from end to end.
  • Independently prioritise tasks and manage multiple deadlines, particularly during closing periods.
  • Identify issues, propose solutions and make decisions within the scope of responsibility.
  • Work proactively with Finance and business stakeholders to resolve issues and improve processes.
  • Act as a reliable point of contact for accounting and financial reporting matters within the assigned areas.

What we are looking for

  • Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics or a related field.
  • Several years of experience in financial accounting, general accounting, financial reporting or a similar Finance role.
  • Strong technical understanding of financial accounting and financial statements.
  • Solid experience with month-end and year-end closing, account reconciliations and account analysis.
  • Experience preparing and analysing financial reporting.
  • Experience with controlling, variance analysis and KPI reporting.
  • Experience working with internal and/or external audits and financial controls.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated interest in process improvement and automation.
  • High level of autonomy, ownership and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively with different stakeholders and across different Finance areas.
  • Good command of English.
