Role Description The Senior Financial Analyst will provide part-time, remote support for FESI’s financial planning, analysis, and reporting activities. This role will develop and maintain financial models, forecasts, and budgets to inform strategic decisions and resource allocation. The Senior Financial Analyst will prepare and review financial reports, monitor variances, and provide insights to leadership on trends, risks, and opportunities. Responsibilities include collaborating with program and operations teams to align financial plans with organizational goals, supporting grant and project financial tracking, and ensuring adherence to nonprofit and regulatory financial standards. The role also involves communicating complex financial information in clear, accessible ways to internal and external stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Candidates should possess strong Financial Planning and Finance skills, including budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management.
  • Candidates should possess advanced Analytical Skills to interpret data, build financial models, and support evidence-based decision-making.
  • Candidates should possess expertise in Financial Reporting, including preparing accurate statements, dashboards, and variance analyses.
  • Candidates should possess effective Communication skills to present financial insights clearly to both financial and non-financial audiences.
  • Relevant experience in nonprofit or public sector finance, particularly in grant or program-based funding, is beneficial.
  • Proficiency with spreadsheets and financial software (e.g., Excel, financial management systems) is preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field; advanced degree or professional certification (e.g., CPA, CFA) is an asset.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment, manage multiple priorities, and maintain high attention to detail.
