Finance
Our client is a major Irish banking group. Its Finance Division oversees Group budgeting, forecasting, and statutory, regulatory and external reporting, partnering with each business division and with centralized finance services.
The Group Financial Control team owns the control environment around accounting processes. It prepares Group and subsidiary statutory accounts and regulatory returns, and delivers accurate, timely financial information to senior stakeholders across the Group.
The roleYou'll lead a team of finance professionals through the Group's monthly, quarterly and half-year reporting close, making sure it lands on time and to a high standard.
Own the Primary Statements, Statutory and FinRep close processes, ensuring reviews and controls are completed to best practice
Identify, understand and mitigate risks across the team's end-to-end processes
Lead the preparation of subsidiary statutory accounts, including the audit and governance process and presenting at audit committees
Build strong relationships with stakeholders across Finance, the wider Group and the external auditors
Work with the Commercial Partnering team to drive continuous improvement and process efficiencies
Play an active part in the Group Financial Control team's strategic initiatives
Set the tone for a team culture built on accountability, agility, collaboration and customer focus
What you'll bringQualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with around 5 years' PQE
Experience leading a team in Financial Control or another control-based function
Strong technical accounting knowledge you can apply quickly and confidently
A track record of delivering tight reporting deadlines while juggling competing priorities
Strong stakeholder management and leadership skills, with the ability to influence at all levels
Self-motivated, able to work on your own initiative and plan and coordinate delivery
Banking or financial services reporting experience (Statutory, FinRep) is a strong advantage
You must be resident in the Republic of Ireland
