Job Description

We are looking for an experienced markets writer and analyst to provide timely and insightful analysis focusing on US stocks. The ideal candidate should also be knowledgeable in bonds, commodities, currencies, and crypto, with the skills to translate complex investment ideas into plain English for an international readership. The ideal candidate should have good English writing skills, and sensitive to a fast-moving news cycle and new investment trends.


Responsibilities

  • Monitor the US stock market and macroeconomic news, earnings releases, breaking events, and expectation shifts, and generate high-quality, timely interpretations of their impact to help an international readership to navigate market trends.
  • Regularly produce original content by anticipating the events and news that are most likely to shape markets tomorrow, helping readers to stay ahead of the pack.
  • Participate in topic planning, using data, graphics, and sharp narrative hooks.
  • Use audience data and analytics to continually improve engagement, click rates and subscriber growth.
  • Work as a collaborative team player across TradingKey’s platforms.


Requirements

  • Working hours are typically 3:00 PM to 12:00 AM (HKT) on a remote basis. Occasional day-shift office attendance may be required.
  • At least 5 years of experience in investment writing, financial journalism, or investment content strategy for a news organization or financial services company.
  • Strong English writing and storytelling skills with the ability to simplify complex topics without compromising accuracy.
  • Deep understanding of capital markets, investing strategies and the economic forces that drive stocks, sectors and market sentiment.
  • Demonstrated ability to produce insightful investing analysis that helps retail investors better understand market developments and make more informed decisions.
  • Good communication and organizational skills as well as attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple deliverables and timelines.
  • A bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, journalism, or a related field. A CFA designation, CFA candidacy, or another relevant investment qualification is a plus.
  • A strong team player that is willing to support the editorial team in other projects when it is required.
