Knowesis, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Senior Forensic Accountant to support the Pandemic Response Accountability Committee (PRAC) by conducting complex financial analysis, tracing the proceeds of fraud, and supporting investigative case development across federal programs. The PRAC provides data-driven oversight of pandemic relief and OBBBA Act funds and works closely with federal Offices of Inspectors General (OIGs) and federal law enforcement to ensure covered funds are used appropriately and not subject to fraud, waste, or abuse.
The Senior Forensic Accountant will serve as a subject-matter expert within the PRAC Analytics Center, applying advanced forensic accounting techniques to analyze financial records, identify suspicious transactions, map money flows, and uncover fraud schemes involving pandemic-related funding. This role supports both analytic and investigative missions by validating model outputs, conducting detailed financial tracing, and producing high-quality investigative work products suitable for referral to law enforcement.
Operating within PRAC’s cloud-based analytic environment and agile IPT structure, the Senior Forensic Accountant will collaborate with investigators, analysts, and OIG partners to develop case packages, support litigation-ready documentation, and provide expert insights into financial typologies, money laundering methods, and asset forfeiture. The role requires deep financial investigative expertise, strong analytical skills, and the ability to communicate complex financial findings clearly to senior stakeholders.
The Job Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Conduct complex financial analysis to trace the proceeds of fraud, money laundering, and asset movement across multi-agency datasets.
- Analyze bank records, financial statements, transaction histories, and commercial databases to identify anomalies, suspicious patterns, and financial fraud indicators.
- Support development of analytic rules and models by providing subject-matter expertise on financial typologies, laundering methods, and fraud schemes.
- Validate analytic outputs by performing detailed financial tracing and reconciliation to confirm or refute potential fraud indicators.
- Lead forensic accounting support for investigative case development, including tracing funds, identifying shell entities, and mapping financial flows.
- Prepare detailed investigative work products, including financial tracing reports, referral packages, affidavits, and case summaries suitable for referral to law enforcement.
- Collaborate with OIGs and federal law enforcement on active investigations, providing expert analysis and testimony-ready documentation.
- Apply advanced financial investigative techniques and leverage commercial databases to support lead generation and case build-out.
- Present findings to senior stakeholders, investigators, and prosecutors in clear, defensible formats.
- Evaluate emerging financial investigative tools, commercial databases, and analytic platforms; recommend solutions aligned with PRAC mission needs.
- Support integration of new financial datasets into PRAC analytic environments, ensuring proper schema design, data quality, and traceability.
- Provide expert input on financial typologies and investigative methodologies to inform PRAC’s analytic capability development.
- Assist PRAC in reviewing new financial investigative technologies and documenting risks, benefits, and configuration considerations for procurement decisions.
