About the Role
Join an AI startup focused on enterprise workflow automation as a customer-facing Forward Deployed Engineer. You will embed with enterprise clients to understand operational challenges, build and deploy AI agents, and deliver measurable improvements from initial scoping through go-live.
What You'll Do
Own end-to-end customer delivery, from kickoff and workflow discovery through implementation, production launch, and ongoing iteration.
Map operational workflows, identify automation opportunities, and address process issues before configuring agents.
Translate business rules into agent actions, decision logic, exception handling, and fallbacks.
Integrate agents with customer systems such as ERPs, portals, spreadsheets, email, and custom tools, writing code and prototypes as needed.
Debug production deployments, measure business outcomes, and improve agent performance.
Lead customer working sessions, manage scope, build stakeholder trust, and identify opportunities to expand successful deployments.
Document reusable templates and runbooks, and share recurring customer needs with Product and Engineering.
What We're Looking For
Typically 5 to 8 years of experience in forward deployed engineering, applied AI, technical consulting, or a similar hands-on delivery role.
Experience shipping AI or agentic systems in customer environments, with hands-on LLMs, agent frameworks, prompt engineering, evaluations, MCP, and APIs.
Practical integration experience with Python, JavaScript or TypeScript, SQL, REST APIs, JSON, and webhooks.
Experience owning delivery from scoping and implementation through go-live, ideally in retail, e-commerce, consumer goods, supply chain, manufacturing, logistics, or another operationally complex domain.
Strong customer-facing communication and a record of connecting technical work to business impact. This is an individual contributor role, with frequent travel to customer sites across the UK and EU during active deployments.
Compensation & Benefits
Salary range: EUR 110,000 to EUR 200,000 annually. Visa sponsorship is not available.
Location
Remote, based in the United Kingdom, with frequent travel to customer sites across the UK and EU during active deployments.
