What’s the Opportunity

PropertyPal is Northern Ireland's favourite property portal, trusted by home movers across Northern Ireland and by the estate agents who power their business. We are a forward-thinking, innovative company built on strong values, a fantastic reputation, and a genuine passion for making moving home easier, smarter and more enjoyable for everyone.

Alongside PropertyPal.com we run PropertyNews, our iOS and Android apps, and around 270 websites for estate agents. PropertyPal is part of Distilled, the group behind Daft.ie, DoneDeal.ie and Adverts.ie.

We are looking for a Frontend Engineer to work across our React web app and React Native mobile apps. You will be up to date with modern frontend technologies, enjoy building intuitive experiences for both web and mobile, and want to work in a high-performance, fast-paced and ambitious environment.

We're a small team, so everyone has a real say in what we build and how. That comes with trust and ownership: we expect high standards and good pace, without needing constant direction. If that sounds like where you do your best work, you'll fit right in.

You'll work closely with product, design, QA and backend engineers, and your ideas will help shape what we build.

This is a remote-first role, with the flexibility to work from home.

How You’ll Create with Impact

We build the PropertyPal web app with React, TypeScript and Next.js, and our iOS and Android apps with React Native.

As a Frontend Engineer at PropertyPal you will:

  • Build, maintain and own features across the PropertyPal web and mobile apps

  • Take responsibility for defining and delivering the solution for complex features, working closely with product and design

  • Help ship and maintain our iOS and Android apps, including app store and over-the-air releases

  • Build efficient, reusable frontend components and shared code that work across web and mobile

  • Use AI development tools such as Claude Code every day to deliver better products faster

  • Keep our codebase clean, scalable, secure and well tested

  • Look after the health of the systems you work on, in production as well as in development

  • Keep up with new technologies and techniques in frontend and mobile development

What You’ll need to Play Your Part

  • 3-5 years demonstrated experience in a similar commercial role

  • Excellent JavaScript and TypeScript skills, with significant professional experience of React

  • Solid experience with HTML and CSS, and experience building fully responsive, mobile-first web interfaces

  • Experience working with RESTful APIs

  • Unit and integration testing experience, using tools such as Jest, React Testing Library or Cypress

  • A daily user of AI development tools such as Claude Code, Cursor or GitHub Copilot

  • Strong communication skills, and the ability to work on your own initiative while being a strong teammate

Advantage if you have

  • Experience of mobile app releases: App Store Connect, Google Play Console, code signing and over-the-air updates

  • Experience building, shipping and maintaining a React Native app in production

  • Experience with native build tooling such as Xcode, Gradle and CocoaPods

  • Experience with Next.js

  • Experience with Redux Toolkit or styled-components

  • Experience with CI/CD, for example GitHub Actions

  • Web and mobile app performance experience

What's it like to work here

You will join a small, experienced engineering team building products used by a large share of people in Northern Ireland when they move home. You will have real ownership of what you work on and the chance to make a significant contribution to how our products and platform develop.
