About Us

UMO is a stealth-mode FinTech venture aiming to evolve the way people experience money by building a unified, AI-powered, yet deeply human modern money platform across fiat, crypto, and investments - subject to regulatory approvals. The platform is being designed to break down traditional barriers to money across access, assets, and experience, enabling simpler, more adaptive ways for people to interact with financial services. We are currently developing our MVP and navigating licensing requirements, with a multidisciplinary team of 100+ people representing 20+ nationalities. About this role

As a part of our team, you'll help us shape a platform that works for One — a business owner, an artist, a freelancer. In this role, you will take direct technical ownership over core fullstack applications and microservices across our modern money platform. We provide the room for you to exercise true technical autonomy, stripping away micromanagement so you can deeply understand the business context behind our financial workflows, collaborate closely across squads, and ship resilient, high-impact features end-to-end.

You'll take ownership of:

• End-to-End Application Delivery: Architect, build, and scale resilient fullstack services, pairing responsive client-side interfaces with high-performance backend microservices in Go and TypeScript.
• API Integration & Gateway Pipelines: Design and consume gRPC, HTTP, and WebSocket APIs, connecting modern user experiences seamlessly with core transactional logic and distributed systems.
• State Management & Data Architecture: Optimize client-side state layers and backend data persistence across relational databases (PostgreSQL), fast memory stores (Redis), and event streaming layers (Kafka, NATS, or similar).
• Cross-Squad Technical Execution: Partner directly with Product, Engineering, and DevOps leads to turn complex product requirements into modular, testable code, unblocking integration dependencies across squads.
• Engineering Craft & Component Systems: Maintain high standards for code cleanliness, security, and component reuse, conducting thorough code reviews and participating in system refactoring.
• AI-Augmented Workflows: Model the engineering craft using modern development tools (Cursor, Claude) as a core part of your daily workflow to accelerate architecture design, feature delivery, and test execution.
  
  

About you:

• Fullstack Engineering Depth: You are a senior engineer (5+ yrs) with proven hands-on experience building, scaling, and maintaining complex web applications and backend microservices.
• Core Tech Stack Mastery: You feel completely at home working across modern JavaScript / TypeScript ecosystems (React) alongside backend microservices written in Go (Golang) or Node.js / TypeScript.
• Distributed & Event-Driven Systems: You bring practical experience working inside microservices architectures, understanding how frontend interactions interface with distributed backend messaging grids and database layers.
• Fintech & Regulated Market Context: You bring practical experience working inside fintechs, startups, digital asset platforms, or payment processors, with a clear understanding of transactional reliability, security, and audit boundaries.
• Infrastructure & Containerization: You possess hands-on experience with containerized environments (Docker, Kubernetes) and automated deployment practices, feeling comfortable owning containerized setups across local and cloud environments.
• Observability Foundations: You have practical experience monitoring application health, evaluating transport latency, and diagnosing system bottlenecks using modern observability setups (Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, Loki).
• Autonomous Milestone Execution: You manage delivery expectations comfortably, taking complete end-to-end problem ownership over features rather than simply executing standalone tickets.
• Transparent & Respectful Collaboration: You communicate openly, share technical context willingly across squads, and enforce an absolute zero-tolerance policy for rudeness or ego.
• Linguistic Fluency: You speak and write English at a professional level to confidently communicate technical architectures and align cross-functional global teams.

• Production Mission-Critical Workloads: Direct experience operating and maintaining business-critical, high-availability workloads in live production environments where uptime and zero-data-loss are essential.
• Modern Testing Mastery: Hands-on experience with modern testing frameworks and methodologies (e.g., Playwright, Cypress, Vitest, Pact for contract testing, property-based testing).
