Senior Full Stack Developer

9-Month Full-Time Contract | Remote/Hybrid | 40 Hours per Week

Highlight: Living Stones Group is seeking a Senior Full Stack Developer for a 9-month contract to design, build, and maintain a modern web application from concept to production. This role is responsible for developing both frontend and backend components, collaborating with stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable solutions, and ensuring high standards of software quality, security, and performance. The successful candidate will be comfortable working independently, making technical decisions, and taking ownership of the application's architecture, deployment, and ongoing enhancement.

Hours: This position is a 9-month, full-time, project-based contract position of 40 hours per week.

Main Responsibilities for this Position:

• Design, build, and maintain frontend applications end-to-end using React or Next.JS.
• Support backend API development alongside frontend work, with flexibility across modern frameworks (e.g., .NET, NestJS, FastAPI).
• Apply strong software engineering principles: SOLID Principles, clean architecture, and both object-oriented and functional programming to produce maintainable, wellstructured code.
• Deploy and manage applications using Docker and cloud infrastructure (Azure, AWS, or similar).
• Collaborate with stakeholders to translate requirements into working software.
• Take ownership of technical decisions and work independently with minimal oversight.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Three plus (3+) years of professional software development experience.
• Proven ability to build a React application from the ground up, including project setup, architecture, and tooling.
• Strong TypeScript skills, with solid command of component architecture and state management.
• Experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL, SQL Server, or MySQL, including schema design and query optimization.
• Experience deploying and hosting applications independently on a cloud platform (Azure, AWS, or similar).
• Hands-on experience with Docker, able to containerize an application so it runs reliably across environments.
• Strong grasp of core software engineering principles : SOLID, clean architecture, and both object-oriented and functional programming with the judgment to apply them, not just recite them.
• Full-stack capability: comfortable standing up and running a backend/API independently, even without deep backend specialization.
• Create and maintain technical documentation, architecture diagrams, deployment procedures, and handover materials.
• Ability to work independently, with minimal oversight, and take full ownership of your code

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with secure software development practices, OWASP Top 10, authentication and authorization design, and data protection requirements.
• Experience integrating AI/LLM capabilities into production applications, including familiarity with retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) or working with providers like OpenAI or Anthropic.
• Experience in multiple programming languages (Python or C#).
• Background in cybersecurity, compliance, or regulated industries.
• Experience working at an early-stage startup.
