Senior Full-Stack Engineer

Unique opportunity for a Senior Full Stack Engineer with a keen interest in DevOps/Platform Engineering to build resilient and highly scalable systems at our frictionless global money movement and FX platform in South Africa (remote or hybrid CT).

You will take full ownership of features across the stack and help design systems that serve both external clients and the internal trading team. You care deeply about performance, code quality, security and building highly-productive tools that work well.

Tech — Typescript/node.js/Golang (primary), Typescript/React (frontend), Python (light); Infra: Docker, AWS (ECS), Temporal

Responsibilities

• Architect and implement end-to-end systems across the frontend, backend and infrastructure domains.
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code using modern frameworks and tools (e.g., AWS, React, Golang, Temporal).
• Collaborate with the product team to ensure system consistency and a better user/client experience.
• Contributing to the team through PRs and loose Agile ceremonies.
• Involved in all stages of software development and architecture, performance evaluation, code review, and internal tool management.
• Participate in team activities and liaise with other team members to ensure projects run smoothly.
• Troubleshooting and fixing bugs, any other coding issues.
• Continuously improving the software efficiency by adopting a user-focused approach.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics or a related field, or equivalent experience from a top-tier university
• 5+ years in industry as a developer working with business critical systems
• Strong backend experience, ideally in typed languages such as Golang or Typescript
• Experience working in a cloud-native environment (Docker)
• Solid understanding of modern engineering practices: CI/CD, version control, testing, and Agile methodologies

Bonus points for:

• Experience with cryptocurrency and/or trading concepts is a significant advantage.
• Experience managing “cloud native” infrastructure on AWS or Kubernetes.
• Familiarity with payments, ledger or recon systems.
• Prior experience in a growth startup environment.
