Senior Full Stack Engineer (Elixir, React)

About Rabbet Rabbet is the leading platform for construction finance management, connecting people and data to help commercial lenders and real estate developers manage over $150B in assets with greater speed, accuracy, and confidence. What You’ll Do As a Senior Software Engineer Own the development, maintenance, testing, and operations of a full-stack application. The backend is primarily Elixir/Phoenix/Absinthe and hosted in GCP. The frontend is React, primarily TypeScript with some JavaScript that still needs converting. Collaborate cross-functionally with product managers, a designer, other engineers, etc. to understand our users’ problems, design and build solutions to those problems, and validate our work. Build and maintain the application throughout the product life cycle. Take ownership and be empowered to make key decisions about what we build and how we build it. Grow as an engineer and assist those around you in their growth via mentorship, pairing, code reviews, and so on. Use LLMs (We use Claude and Codex) as part of your workflow, while owning the output, applying your own judgment, and keeping full understanding of what ships. We’re Looking For Someone Who… Goes beyond building features to a spec by understanding the “why” and being an active participant in the product development process Is passionate about growth Takes responsibility for the outcomes of their work Thrives in a collaborative, cross-functional environment Enjoys architecting elegant solutions to technical and customer problems Is a “force multiplier”, not only delivering rock-solid solutions themselves but also actively works to level up other team members Requirements 6+ years of backend software development experience, with 3+ of those in a functional language. Elixir or Erlang experience strongly preferred. 3+ years experience in React Self-directed and capable of working effectively in a startup environment Able to design data models and architect software solutions that consider both performance and future maintainability in a large, existing codebase Very communicative and responsive, as we work from home Preferred Experience Experience building GraphQL APIs using Absinthe Understanding of Postgres database design and optimization Experience mentoring other engineers Previous experience working in a fintech startup Experience working with LLM coding tools as part of a professional workflow Compensation, Benefits, And Perks Competitive salary compensation with equity for all employees Investment in your professional growth and development We care about your total wellness: we offer a 401(k) plan with a generous matching contribution as well as comprehensive medical, dental, and vision plans.
