About PayBuddy
PayBuddy is a consumer mobile app that helps people stay on top of their recurring payments. Our assets include an extensively iterated high-resolution Figma prototype, in-depth market and user research, clear growth and marketing plans, and a $5M+ pre-launch valuation with active capital-raising plans.
Role Overview
We are seeking a Senior Full-Stack Engineer to join our engineering team on a part-time basis (approximately 15–20 hours per week), fully remote and Australia-based.
As a senior generalist, you will contribute across the stack — mobile and backend — wherever the build needs momentum, helping us ship the PayBuddy product against an ambitious timeline. You will work under the direction of our CTO, alongside our mobile, backend, design, and content teams.
This is a rare opportunity to work end-to-end on a validated consumer FinTech product and to have real breadth of impact on the build.

Role Responsibilities
As a Senior Full-Stack Engineer at PayBuddy, you will help deliver the launch product end-to-end. To be considered, please review the responsibilities and skills below:
- Contribute across the stack — mobile (React Native / Flutter) and backend / APIs — wherever the build needs momentum
- Implement features end-to-end: UI, API endpoints, and data models
- Support the CDR / Open Banking data integration and the notification and content systems
- Help maintain code quality, automated tests, and CI/CD
- Collaborate with the mobile, backend, design, and content teams under the CTO's direction
Key Skills
- 5+ years' full-stack engineering experience, shipping production consumer products
- Proficiency both in a modern frontend / mobile framework (React, React Native, or Flutter) and a backend language (Node.js, Python, or similar)
- Familiarity with a major cloud platform (AWS, GCP, or Azure)
- Strong API design and integration skills
- Comfortable being a flexible generalist who moves across the stack in a lean team
- Based in Australia and legally entitled to work here
Bonus Skills (not mandatory but valued)
- FinTech, financial data, or regulated product experience
- Familiarity with Australian Open Banking (Consumer Data Right / CDR)
- Experience shipping mobile apps to the App Store or Google Play
- Experience with AI-assisted development tools
- Experience with CI/CD, automated testing, and observability
