SENIOR GNSS SPECIALIST (Measurement Layer) Are you passionate about developing cutting-edge GNSS and signal processing technology? We are seeking a Senior GNSS Specialist who combines deep expertise in satellite navigation with hands-on software engineering skills to join our team and help build world-class positioning systems for challenging real-world environments. Our office is located in Tampere, Finland. You can work mostly remotely if you live in Finland and can visit the office occasionally. Please note that we are unable to offer remote work opportunities outside Finland. YOUR ROLE AS A SENIOR GNSS SPECIALIST As a Senior GNSS Specialist, you will drive the development of advanced GNSS solutions, working across measurement engines, DSP, algorithm design, and embedded software. You will design and optimize measurement layer algorithms, implement production-level code, and directly enhance our GNSS services. You will work independently while collaborating closely with Exafore colleagues and the customer’s R&D team on a GNSS development project tailored to their specific needs. Key responsibilities: Design and implement GNSS measurement layer algorithms: Develop signal acquisition, tracking, and pseudorange/phase extraction techniques, ensuring robustness against multipath, interference, and clock errors. Optimize algorithm performance: Enhance computational efficiency, reduce memory usage, and support real-time operation on embedded GNSS receivers using advanced DSP techniques. Embedded software development: Write high-performance, maintainable C code for client systems and GNSS receiver platforms, including designing new features and improving existing codebases. EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS WE ARE LOOKING FOR GNSS expertise: Preferably 5+ years of experience in GNSS measurement layer algorithm development, including signal acquisition (FFT) and tracking algorithms (DLL, PLL, FLL). Programming skills: Strong C programming skills with experience in resource-constrained embedded and real-time systems. Experience with Matlab and/or Python is welcome, though all roles require advanced programming skills. Software development practices: Hands-on experience with version control (e.g. Git), testing, and software development processes. Communication: Fluent in English with clear and effective written and verbal communication skills. OUR TEAM AND GNSS PROJECTS Exafore was established in 2015, and today we have a team of 16, including 12 specialists working on GNSS and embedded systems. Our GNSS software engineering services cover the full development lifecycle, from requirements and algorithm development to software implementation and testing. Our customers range from early-stage startups and mass-market applications to established GNSS receiver manufacturers and research organizations. Currently, we have five ongoing GNSS-related customer projects, including IoT GNSS receiver development, multi-frequency measurement engine development, and GNSS/AoA development for synthetic aperture antennas.
