Senior Human Resources Business Partner

As the Senior HR Business Partner, you'll be the go-to expert for employee relations and Works Council matters across Germany, partnering closely with business leaders, Legal, and global People teams. This role combines strategic business partnering with hands-on execution and offers the opportunity to influence people practices across the wider EMEA region over time.

What You'll Be Doing

• Act as a trusted HR advisor to senior leaders on employee relations, performance management, organizational change, and people strategy.
• Lead and own the relationship with the German Works Council, managing consultations, negotiations, and co-determination processes.
• Prepare and negotiate Works Agreements in partnership with Legal and business stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with German employment legislation while providing commercially pragmatic HR guidance.
• Coach and support managers through complex employee relations matters and leadership challenges.
• Partner with leadership on performance reviews, talent planning, succession, and organizational development.
• Manage the full employee lifecycle, providing expert support across all HR activities.
• Review and enhance HR policies, employee handbooks, and people processes to ensure legal compliance and best practice.
• Act as the escalation point for complex HR cases.
• Drive continuous improvement across HR programmes and initiatives.
• Collaborate with Talent Acquisition and Communications to strengthen employer branding and employee experience.
• Contribute to regional and global HR projects across the wider People function.

What We're Looking For

• 10+ years' experience within Human Resources, including significant experience as a Senior HR Business Partner or equivalent.
• Extensive, hands-on experience working with German Works Councils, including leading negotiations and consultations.
• Strong knowledge of German employment law and employee relations.
• Degree in Human Resources, Employment Law, Industrial Relations, or a related discipline. Professional HR qualifications are advantageous.
• Experience working within multinational or matrix organizations.
• Confident influencing and advising senior stakeholders.
• Comfortable balancing strategic business partnering with operational delivery.
• Experience using HRIS systems such as Workday would be advantageous.
• Fluent German and English are essential.
