About the Role
You will be part of the integrated Kuali Customer Success team, working closely with other Implementation Consultants, Project Managers, Customer Success Engineers, Customer Success Managers and Product colleagues, who are focused on helping customers get the most value from their investment in our software, and the team members who design and build our products.
At Kuali, a Senior Implementation Consultant is responsible for managing and assisting customers in successfully implementing a Kuali solution. They become an effective member of our team and a trusted advisor to our customers. You’ll delight customers and facilitate smooth adoption of Kuali products by guiding and advising customers on how to configure and use the system to best meet their needs. This position will report to our Director of Professional Services and will work mostly remotely with customers and team members across the country.
Who are we?
Kuali builds software solutions for higher education. We help our customers — colleges & universities — focus on providing a fantastic education to students by decreasing their administrative costs. We work in a competitive space, ripe for innovation, with users ready to be delighted.

Our Culture
As a company, we are guided by our cultural values:
  • Iterate to evolve
  • Cultivate openness
  • Act with accountability
  • Assume the best
  • Practice humility
  • Deliver amazing experiences
At Kuali, we learn from and teach each other, we practice transparency and empathy, we delight in delivering value to our customers, and we WIN!
We work remotely and have for years. Distributed work is in our bones, with a history of institutions working across state lines on open-source software for more than ten years. Our employees each work in the environment where they’re happiest, from Pennsylvania to Seattle. We work consciously to create a collaborative and healthy remote work culture, and we travel to meet in person a few times each year.

What you’ll be responsible for
  • Build strong relationships with customers to develop a deep understanding of the problems they’re trying to solve and how they define success.
  • Assist customers with planning and implementation of Kuali solutions.
  • Work as a functional lead in conjunction with other implementation consultants and customer members throughout the entire implementation lifecycle, including planning, business process analysis and design, configuration, data conversions, integrations, training, go-live, and post-production support.
  • Be able to articulate Kuali software capabilities by maintaining an in-depth working knowledge of the software and how it can be configured and implemented to meet customer requirements.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in system design and configuration, identification of business process modification, design document creation, data migration analysis, integration analysis, test script identification/execution, train-the-trainer and end-user training development and execution, and change management design and execution.
  • Prepare and deliver presentations to customers.
  • In certain cases, work as a project manager and develop work plans.
  • Complete complex system-related analysis.
  • Suggest approaches and solutions for solving problems that arise within the engagement.
  • Ensure that the Kuali application is being effectively utilized by first exploring the customers' unique business and technical requirements and then recommending the most appropriate solution(s) for customers.
  • Train and participate in the professional development of Kuali staff in implementations, project management and technical dimensions.
  • Manage multiple projects of differing scale and duration.
  • Share user feedback with the Product team to help guide product development.
  • Play a supporting role with RFP and sales demos.
  • Work with product and sales colleagues to define best practices for product usage, building a library of resources to be used in future engagements.
About you
  • You align with Kuali’s values: You model curiosity, openness, accountability, and a commitment to delivering amazing experiences.
  • You’re a resourceful executor: You take a broad vision, collaborate on strategic priorities, and own the steps required to make it real, from planning to hands-on implementation.
  • You’re calm under pressure: You can handle shifting priorities, ambiguity, and fast-changing situations with resilience.
  • You’re collaborative and influential: You build trust quickly and communicate clearly across all levels of the organization.
  • You’re organized and detail-oriented: You can manage multiple projects at once without losing sight of the big picture.
  • You thrive in remote environments: You know how to create alignment and connection across distributed teams.
  • You roll up your sleeves: You’re comfortable being the ‘doer of last resort’ in a resource-constrained environment.
  • You bring broad experience: You’ve independently led multidisciplinary projects in resource-constrained environments where the buck stopped with you.
Skills & Experience Required:
  • Previous Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) implementation experience with Kuali, Workday, Banner, PeopleSoft Campus Solutions, Oracle, etc.
  • A minimum of five years of relevant experience in consulting, finance, and/or higher education.
  • A bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • The ability to establish credibility with stakeholders at various levels on the basis of expertise, maturity, and professionalism.
  • A desire and willingness to learn new tools, techniques, concepts, and methodologies.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills; highly invested in developing strong relationships both with customers and colleagues.
  • Experience in supporting multiple projects concurrently.

  • Strong communication skills, both spoken and written.
  • Comfortable presenting information to various levels of stakeholders.
