The Department of Parliamentary Services

The Department of Parliamentary Services (DPS) provides infrastructure, technology, facilities, and support services to Members of Parliament and parliamentary departments. We work closely with our partners to support the effective operation of Parliament, enabling parliamentary sittings, committee hearings, public access, broadcasting, and internal media and audiovisual services.

About the role

The Department of Parliamentary Services (DPS) is seeking a 3 year fixed term Senior IT Project Manager - Media Broadcast to lead a major transformation of Parliament's broadcast, audiovisual and media technology environment. This high-profile role will oversee the delivery of a significant infrastructure upgrade that supports parliamentary sittings, committee hearings, web streaming, IPTV and audiovisual services across the Victorian Parliament.

Working closely with the Hansard and Broadcast team, and alongside IT's Architecture and Strategy team and external industry partners, you will coordinate multiple technical workstreams, manage complex vendor relationships and ensure the successful delivery of modern, resilient and future-ready broadcast capabilities. Ensuring this significant infrastructure upgrade aligns perfectly with our broader ICT strategy and roadmap.

In this role, your key focus areas will include:

  • Leading the planning, governance, execution, and end-to-end delivery of a complex, multi-year broadcast and AV infrastructure upgrade.
  • Managing project scope, timelines, budgets, and resource allocation to ensure high-quality delivery.
  • Collaborating with technical teams, vendors, and senior parliamentary stakeholders to align project outcomes with the DPS ICT strategy.
  • Mitigating risks and managing complex dependencies unique to a high-availability broadcast environment.

About you

You are an experienced technology Project Manager who thrives in complex delivery environments and enjoys bringing together people, technology and operational outcomes.

  • Proven experience leading large-scale, complex infrastructure transformation projects, ideally within a media, broadcast, or high-availability AV environment.
  • Strong project management credentials with a track record of managing multi-year budgets and vendor relationships.
  • Exceptional stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to navigate complex organisational structures.
  • A proactive, solution-oriented approach to risk management and project delivery.

The Recruitment Process

  1. Application: Submit your CV and a brief cover letter outlining your suitability.
  2. Initial Screening: A 15-minute introductory phone call with our HR team.
  3. Panel Interview: A face-to-face panel interview with key team members.
  4. Final Checks: National Police Check and professional reference checks.
