Senior Information Technology Strategist

We are seeking an experienced Senior IT Strategist for a long-term assignment focused on IT strategy, strategic planning, and digital transformation for one of our clients in Sweden.

Assignment Details:

Role: Senior IT Strategist

Level: Senior / Level 5

Start Date: November 4, 2026

Initial Contract: Until November 3, 2027

Extension: Up to an additional 12 months

Location: Örebro, Sweden

Work Arrangement: On-site at least 4 days per week

Remote Work: Permitted on other days by agreement

About the Role

The role will involve:

• Analyzing business needs, current capabilities, and future development requirements
• Developing and refining IT strategies and strategic governing documents
• Defining target states, roadmaps, and strategic action plans
• Conducting environmental and technology trend analysis
• Preparing decision-support materials for management and steering groups
• Planning and facilitating workshops with business and IT stakeholders
• Conducting stakeholder interviews and structured analysis
• Supporting change management related to strategic initiatives
• Coordinating between business operations and IT
• Monitoring and evaluating strategic initiatives and strategic objectives
• Developing recommendations based on strategic studies and analysis

Mandatory Requirements

Candidates must meet all of the following requirements and clearly demonstrate them in their CV with specific assignments and timeframes:

• Minimum 8 years of documented experience since 2015 in IT strategy or equivalent strategic IT work
• Experience independently leading or executing the development of IT strategies, target states, roadmaps, or equivalent governing documents
• Experience working in complex organizations with multiple stakeholders
• Proven experience leading workshops, interviews, and analysis involving both business representatives and IT functions
• Experience preparing decision-support materials for management teams, steering committees, or equivalent bodies
• Ability to independently drive strategic studies from initial analysis through to final recommendations
• Ability and willingness to work from Örebro at least 4 days per week

Preferred Qualifications

The following experience will be considered an advantage:

• 3+ years of experience working with government agencies or other public sector organizations
• 8+ years of experience developing and working with different types of IT strategies and strategic governing documents
• 8+ years of experience translating business strategies into IT strategic target states and action plans
• 3+ years of experience with environmental and technology trend analysis related to digitalization and IT
• 3+ years of experience with change management linked to digital transformation
• 5+ years of experience with established frameworks and methodologies for strategic IT work, such as TOGAF, ITIL, PM3, COBIT, or equivalent
• 3+ years of experience in Business Architecture or Enterprise Architecture
