About Liquor & Gaming NSW
We are at the pointy end of industry supervision for the liquor, gaming, wagering, casino and registered club sectors in NSW. About the Role
As a Senior Inspector, you will play a critical role in ensuring compliance with legislation, regulatory requirements, and industry standards across a complex and dynamic environment. You will undertake inspections, investigations, audits, and compliance reviews, using a risk-based approach to identify issues, assess risks, and support enforcement outcomes where required.
This role offers a unique combination of field-based and analytical work, requiring sound judgement, attention to detail, and the ability to engage confidently with a diverse range of stakeholders. You will contribute to intelligence gathering, case management, compliance reporting, and regulatory initiatives while working collaboratively with co-regulators, industry representatives, and internal teams. The position involves regular weekend and after-hours deployments and provides the opportunity to make a meaningful impact through the promotion of integrity, compliance, and public confidence.
About you
The ideal candidate is an excellent communicator who can build productive relationships with a broad range of stakeholders while maintaining professionalism, impartiality, and integrity.
You will bring:
- Experience in compliance, regulatory, investigative, enforcement, or related functions.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills.
- Ability to interpret and apply legislation, policies, and procedures accurately.
- Excellent written communication skills, including preparing reports, briefs, and recommendations.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess risk and make evidence-based decisions.
- Resilience, sound judgement, and a commitment to fair and impartial regulation.
- The flexibility to undertake field-based inspections, including regular weekend, after-hours work and regional inspections

Essential requirements
- Willingness and availability to meet the shift-work requirements of the role.
- Appointment and ongoing assignment are subject to satisfactorily meeting pre-employment and ongoing probity screening to meet the integrity standards set out in section 14 of the Gaming and Liquor Administration Act 2007.
- The person occupying the role will be designated as a key official under section 16 of the Gaming and Liquor Administration Act 2007 and may be subject to restrictions, such as restrictions on attending certain premises.
- A current Class C Driver Licence.
