  • Be a key point of contact for clients and internal stakeholders across instrumentation and control engineering works within the APLNG portfolio, building trusted relationships that support long-term client partnerships.
  • Deliver hands-on instrumentation and control engineering design, providing technical problem-solving across the portfolio from concept development through detailed design and implementation.
  • Develop and review I&C deliverables, including control philosophies, functional descriptions, instrument specifications, datasheets, instrument indexes, I/O lists, loop drawings and cause-and-effect documentation
  • Provide clear, practical advice on instrumentation, control systems, automation, communications and system integration for operating assets and brownfield environments.
  • Work with electrical, process, mechanical and other disciplines to resolve technical challenges and deliver complete multidisciplinary projects.
  • Mentor and guide emerging engineers, sharing your technical knowledge and helping them develop.
  • Manage project progress and performance outcomes while driving continuous improvement and supporting best-practice I&C standards.

What you’ll bring

  • Relevant qualifications in Electrical, Electronic, Instrumentation or Control Engineering.
  • RPEQ registration in a relevant area of engineering.
  • Extensive experience in instrumentation and control engineering across oil and gas, resources, energy and heavy industrial environments, with a proven ability to apply technical expertise to successfully deliver project outcomes.
  • Strong technical capability across field instrumentation, control systems, automation, communications and the integration of I&C systems with operating assets.
  • Experience and certification in hazardous area design and functional safety.
  • Experience delivering brownfield design solutions and managing projects in alignment with client policies, standards and specifications.
  • Strong communication, collaboration and stakeholder engagement skills, together with a genuine interest in mentoring and developing emerging engineers.
  • Experience in working with Australian Coal Seam Gas operators would be highly regarded.
