Job Description

About the role

We're looking for a Senior Internal Auditor to join our high-performing Internal Audit team. In this role, you'll provide high-quality, strategically aligned assurance over the Society's technology, digital and transformation risks, helping provide valued assurance as our technology landscape continues to evolve.

Reporting to the Technology Internal Audit Manager, this is a hands-on assurance role with responsibility for delivering technology-focused internal audits from initial scoping through to reporting. You'll have the opportunity to influence assurance approaches across a broad technology landscape spanning digital, data, cyber, transformation and emerging technologies.

Alongside audit delivery, you'll bring curiosity, external perspective and strong technology awareness to our ways of working as we increasingly use data, technology and AI to deliver the Internal Audit service, while helping to strengthen technology assurance capability across the wider team.

About You

You'll bring experience in technology audit, technology risk, technology controls, or a similar risk and assurance environment, together with a strong understanding of technology governance, risk and control frameworks.

You'll be capable of independently planning and delivering assurance work, applying sound professional judgement and translating technical issues into clear business risks and practical recommendations. Experience across areas such as technology governance, cyber risk, cloud, transformation, data, resilience or third-party technology risk would be beneficial.

You're comfortable building relationships and constructively challenging stakeholders at all levels. Curious and analytical by nature, you'll enjoy learning new technologies, exploring emerging risks and bringing fresh thinking to your work.

Most importantly, you'll combine strong assurance fundamentals with the potential and ambition to contribute beyond individual audit assignments, helping strengthen our technology assurance capability and supporting the continued evolution of the Internal Audit function.

Relevant audit, risk or technology qualifications are welcome, but equivalent experience and a demonstrated ability to deliver high-quality assurance are equally valued.
