Taronga Zoo Sydney is looking for an experienced and motivated Senior IT Project Manager to join our Corporate Services team!

A key leader in the end-to end delivery of Taronga’s Ticketing and Unified Commerce Platform, one of the organisation’s largest and most strategically significant digital initiatives. This role is responsible for overseeing all phases of delivery—from initiation and planning through to implementation and transition to operations. Ensure the programme is delivered efficiently, within agreed scope, timeframes and budget, while achieving defined benefits and outcomes aligned to Taronga’s strategic and guest experience objectives.

Key Accountabilities…

  • Deliver a Ticketing Transformation – Attractions Visitor Commerce Platform that supports Taronga's strategic objectives, enhances guest experience, integrates seamlessly with enterprise systems, and provides a scalable foundation for future growth.
  • Maintain an integrated program that delivers agreed scope, benefits, quality, time and budget outcomes, while proactively managing risks, dependencies and constraints.
  • Align business, technology and operational requirements into a single enterprise solution that meets the needs of stakeholders across the organisation.
  • Successfully complete procurement, vendor selection and contracting activities, ensuring the chosen solution and partners deliver long-term value, capability and strategic fit.
  • Works in collaboration with the ‘Business User Champion’ to coordinate internal teams and external partners to enable cohesive delivery of a complex, multi-stream transformation program.
  • Establish effective governance, assurance and compliance practices that support informed decision-making, transparency and adherence to organisational and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide executives and sponsors with clear visibility of program performance, risks, decisions and benefits realisation, enabling timely and informed decisions.
  • Achieve a successful transition to business-as-usual operations through effective change management, operational readiness, adoption and capability uplift, ensuring sustainable benefits realisation.
  • Balancing strategic program leadership with hands-on delivery responsibilities, including the production of key project artefacts, requirements documentation, testing coordination, defect triage and readiness activities across multiple workstreams.

About You…

We are looking for candidates that have:

Key knowledge and experience

  • Proven experience in leading transformational IT projects in a complex organisational environment.
  • Strong knowledge of project management methodologies (e.g. PRINCE2, PMBOK, Agile) and governance frameworks.
  • Skilled in designing solutions based on business analysis and enterprise architecture principles
  • Demonstrated experience leading organisational change and adoption activities using recognised methodologies (e.g. PROSCI ADKAR) to achieve sustainable business outcomes and benefits realisation.
  • Demonstrated ability to align project delivery with strategic objectives and manage competing priorities.
  • Demonstrated business partnering, and stakeholder management skills, including the ability to influence business and technology outcomes.
  • Strong attention to detail with a process-driven, continuous improvement mindset.

Essential requirements

  • Hold a current NSW Driver’s License or ability to have existing license formally recognised, including manual and maintain at your own expense.
