Senior IT Systems Engineer

Position Summary We are seeking a skilled and proactive Senior IT Systems Engineer to join our growing global IT team. This individual will play a critical role in supporting, maintaining, and improving IT infrastructure, with a strong focus on Microsoft 365, Azure AD, Intune, and end-user systems management. In addition to providing escalated support, this role will take ownership of IT projects, system testing, and implementations that enhance the company’s operational efficiency and security posture. Key Responsibilities Serve as an escalation point for complex IT support issues and ensure timely resolution through email, phone, or Slack. Manage and maintain Microsoft 365, Azure AD, Exchange Online, Intune, and related cloud services. Lead or participate in IT projects, including new software implementations, system upgrades, migrations, integrations, security enhancements, and infrastructure improvements. Design and execute device management policies and endpoint configurations via Intune and other tools. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to test, document, and deploy system updates and patches with minimal business disruption. Administer and enhance identity management, endpoint security, conditional access policies, and other IT systems according to best practices. Support employee onboarding and offboarding, ensuring consistent device configuration, identity setup, and access management. Monitor system health and proactively identify opportunities to improve performance, automation, reliability, and security. Maintain and enhance documentation, IT procedures, and knowledge base articles. Provide accurate and timely reports as required or assigned, and communicate effectively with internal team members, leaders, and inter-company departments. Drive the company-wide migration of applications to Okta for single sign-on (SSO), including coordinating cutover timing with system owners, communicating changes to end users, assigning applications to the appropriate groups, and ensuring proper security configuration, including authenticators, network zones, step-up authentication, and lifecycle management. Occasionally provide after-hours support for critical incidents or maintenance windows. 3–5 years of experience in IT support, systems administration, or a related technical field. Proven expertise in Microsoft 365 administration, Azure AD, Intune, and Exchange Online. Proficiency with PowerShell and automation scripting for system management and task automation. Strong working knowledge of Windows 10/11, MacOS, and related device management. Familiarity with networking fundamentals, including LAN, WAN, VPN, and patch management processes. Hands-on experience with IT ticketing systems, change management, and incident resolution. Demonstrated experience executing or supporting IT infrastructure projects, such as migrations, integrations, and security enhancements. Experience with identity provider platforms such as Okta, Azure AD, or similar, including SSO configuration, MFA policy enforcement, and user lifecycle management; Okta experience is a plus. Experience with endpoint security, conditional access policies, or Zero Trust frameworks. Exposure to automation platforms or configuration management tools. Excellent problem-solving, documentation, and analytical skills. Strong communication and collaboration skills with a proactive, solution-oriented mindset. Microsoft certifications such as MD-102, AZ-104, or equivalent are a plus. Must be able to understand job duties and responsibilities, have the necessary skills and knowledge, and be willing and able to continue learning and growing within the field.
