🔎 We are looking for a Senior Java Developer – 100% Remote

• Proven hands-on experience with Azure DevOps — mandatory requirement.

Are you an experienced Java Developer who enjoys building scalable solutions in an international environment? This opportunity allows you to contribute to the development of an innovative risk exchange platform for the insurance sector.

📝 MAIN TASKS

• Design, develop and implement innovative software solutions for an insurance risk exchange platform.
• Build scalable, high-performance and maintainable backend applications using Java.
• Collaborate with Product Owners, stakeholders and cross-functional teams to understand business requirements.
• Translate business needs into clear technical specifications and reliable software solutions.
• Participate actively in Agile and Scrum ceremonies throughout the development lifecycle.
• Use Azure DevOps for continuous integration, continuous deployment and team collaboration.
• Implement and optimize SQL and MongoDB databases for the storage and retrieval of insurance-related data.
• Conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback to other members of the development team.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues, ensuring software quality and performance.
• Contribute to continuous improvement by applying development best practices and following relevant technology trends.

🧩 YOUR PROFILE AND SKILLS

• At least 5–6 years of professional experience in Java development.
• Strong proficiency in Java and backend software development.
• Proven hands-on experience with Azure DevOps — mandatory requirement.
• Experience implementing and managing CI/CD processes using Azure DevOps.
• Good knowledge of relational databases and SQL.
• Practical experience with MongoDB or other NoSQL databases.
• Experience working with Agile methodologies, particularly Scrum.
• Strong understanding of scalable, high-performance and maintainable software development.
• Experience with code reviews, testing, debugging and software development best practices.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of assigned responsibilities.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills in an international environment.
• English proficiency at C1 level — mandatory requirement.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field.
• Previous experience in the insurance or financial services sector is considered an advantage.
• Availability to work in a 100% remote model from Portugal.
