Senior Java Developer (Banking)

ABOUT THE ROLE: Join a team of dedicated professionals in the banking sector, working on exciting projects that contribute to a financially sound and sustainable society. The role is based in Vilnius and follows a hybrid working model , combining office and remote work. WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING: Develop and maintain backend applications and services using modern Java and Spring Boot technologies. Design, develop, and enhance scalable solutions supporting business-critical banking applications. Work with the latest Java versions and modern development practices, while also supporting and integrating with legacy systems. Contribute to new product development, technical upgrades, system enhancements, and complex backend initiatives. Design and implement APIs, integrations, and backend functionality to support user-facing applications. Identify and implement technical improvements to enhance application performance, reliability, and maintainability. Collaborate within a cross-functional product team with frontend developers, QA engineers, DevOps specialists, and business stakeholders. Work with Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud/infrastructure technologies as part of modern application delivery. Contribute to continuous improvement of development, testing, and deployment processes. Participate in Agile/Scrum development and contribute to technical decision-making and solution design. WHAT WE EXPECT: Strong professional experience in Java backend development . Strong knowledge of Java 21+ and Spring Boot . Experience with Hibernate and building REST APIs/integrations. Experience with Git, Gradle, IntelliJ, and Jenkins . Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes ; OpenShift is an advantage. DevOps experience and knowledge of infrastructure are a strong advantage. Knowledge of CloudBees, Helm, and SonarQube is an advantage. Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments. Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a cross-functional team. Fluency in English and ability to use English on a daily basis. PREFERRED SKILLS: Experience with Angular 22+ / JavaScript and frontend development. Experience with Oracle PL/SQL . Experience developing automated tests . Experience with cloud technologies, CI/CD, and infrastructure. Strong Kubernetes and DevOps knowledge. WHAT WE OFFER: Salary ranges (for employees in Lithuania only): 4500 - 6500 € gross (the given range is flexible and depends on your experience).
