Senior Java Developer / Hadoop Platform Engineer

Project description

We are seeking an experienced Java Developer with advanced expertise in Apache Hadoop to join our engineering team. This role goes beyond standard Hadoop administration. We require a candidate with a deep technical understanding of Hadoop, capable of troubleshooting complex issues, analyzing source code, applying patches, and modifying Hadoop open-source code when necessary.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain Java applications and platform components. Troubleshoot complex Hadoop issues and perform root-cause analysis. Investigate problems at Hadoop source-code level. Develop/apply patches and build customised Hadoop components when required. Support and improve the existing Hadoop installed base. Automate deployment, configuration and infrastructure activities. Work across development, platform engineering and CI/CD.

SKILLS

Must have

• Strong Java development skills. Advanced Apache Hadoop knowledge, beyond administration and usage. Ability to read, debug and modify Hadoop source code. Strong troubleshooting skills for complex distributed systems. Strong Linux knowledge. Git and CI/CD experience. Highly relevant technologies Ansible Kubernetes Python Azure DevOps Terraform Istio
