Job Description Summary

Hunt Electric is looking for an experienced Learning & Development professional who knows how to take ownership, build trust quickly, and get meaningful work across the finish line.

This is a hands-on role for someone who is equally comfortable facilitating a room, building a course in Articulate 360, solving an issue in Workday Learning, or sitting down with a subject matter expert to turn technical knowledge into useful training. You will lead larger learning initiatives and help build capability across the business for audiences ranging from individual contributors to senior leaders.

We are a lean team, so this role matters. You will have the chance to own real work, bring forward ideas, and make a visible impact on how employees and leaders grow at Hunt Electric. We are looking for someone who is grounded, capable, dependable, and willing to step into unfamiliar situations with confidence and good judgment.

You will partner with the Learning & Development Manager, HR Business Partners, Operations, and business leaders across Hunt Electric to deliver practical training that solves real business problems. The Learning & Development Manager sets team priorities and works with the Senior Learning & Development Specialist to balance core programs, business requests, and project work.

Job Description:

Role & Responsibilities

  • Own and Deliver Core Learning Programs: Coordinate, facilitate, and improve learning programs for individual contributors through senior leaders, including Manager Leadership Development, onboarding, and other key learning experiences.
  • Build Training People Can Use: Create professional eLearning, job aids, facilitator guides, presentations, and other learning tools using Articulate 360 and other resources. Ensure materials align with Hunt Electric brand standards and support our organizational purpose and core values. Partner with subject matter experts to turn business knowledge and processes into clear, practical training that helps employees build skills and grow in their careers.
  • Keep Workday Learning Running Well: Manage day-to-day learning system work, including course setup, assignments, learning paths, catalog maintenance, reporting, and learner support.
  • Support Real Business Needs: Help evaluate and respond to training requests from teams across Hunt Electric. Recommend practical solutions based on the need, whether that is a job aid, short course, workshop, eLearning module, or another resource.
  • Move Work Forward: Lead assigned projects and larger cross-functional learning initiatives from planning through delivery. Manage timelines, stakeholder communication, and next steps. Keep commitments, and raise questions or capacity concerns early when priorities need to be sorted out.
  • Measure What Works: Gather feedback, review learning data, and evaluate program effectiveness. Use what you learn to improve learning experiences and show the value of L&D work.
  • Keep Learning Current: Stay aware of learning tools, technology, and practices that could improve the learner experience, strengthen program delivery, or help the team work more effectively.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of hands-on experience in Learning & Development, training, Human Resources, or a related field.
  • Experience owning learning programs or projects from planning through delivery, including stakeholder coordination and follow-up.
  • Experience designing and facilitating practical learning experiences for a range of audiences, from individual contributors through senior leaders.
  • Experience creating learning content, including eLearning, job aids, presentations, facilitator guides, and other professional materials.
  • Strong working knowledge of Articulate 360 or similar course authoring tools.
  • Experience managing a learning management system. Workday Learning experience is strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of adult learning principles, instructional design practices, and facilitation techniques.
  • Strong facilitation, communication, and relationship-building skills. Able to earn credibility with field and office employees, individual contributors, managers, and senior leaders.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills. Able to manage multiple priorities, timelines, and stakeholders.
  • The ability to walk into unfamiliar situations, ask good questions, build relationships, and move work forward without needing every detail mapped out.
  • Sound judgment and a calm, professional presence when priorities shift or the path forward is not immediately clear.
  • Strong ownership and follow-through. Able to work independently while staying aligned with team priorities and leadership direction.
  • Practical problem-solving skills and the ability to recommend learning solutions that fit the business need and audience.
  • Comfortable learning and using new technology, learning tools, and digital resources.
  • Models Hunt Electric’s core values through interactions, decisions, and deliverables.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in construction, manufacturing, engineering, or another operational, field-based environment.
  • Experience supporting leadership development or manager training.
  • Previous leadership or supervisory experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent practical experience.

Physical Requirements

  • This job operates primarily in a professional office environment.
  • This role regularly uses standard office equipment, including computers, phones, printers, and photocopiers.
  • The employee is regularly required to sit, stand, use hands, reach, and communicate.
  • The employee may occasionally be required to bend, kneel, stoop, crouch, or lift and move items up to 10 pounds.
  • This role may require travel to Hunt Electric locations or other work sites to facilitate training or support learning programs.
