Senior Learning Experience Designer

Full-time | Dublin (Remote; Occasional EU travel) | Ireland work rights required

About Us 👋

Player 1 Labs is a boutique learning and experience agency that works with some of the world’s leading organisations to turn business challenges into experiences people remember.

We partner with clients across industries and cultures to create custom solutions around leadership, capability building, onboarding, change, collaboration, and culture. The format depends entirely on the challenge: it might be a live workshop, a game, an immersive event, a team experience, a learning journey, or something entirely new.

We are not an e-learning studio. We do not produce self-paced modules or LMS packages. Everything we build is delivered live, either in person on site or virtually. We live-facilitate the experiences we create.

Every client brings us a different challenge, and almost everything we create is made from scratch. That means our work requires curiosity, strong learning instincts, creative problem-solving, visual craft, and the ability to turn ideas into practical experiences.

About the role 🧠

This is a strategic, creative, and hands-on role for someone who can take a messy brief and deliver a polished, playable solution. We're looking for a sharp, curious, and design-minded teammate to help us build high-impact learning experiences and games for our clients.

You’ll own projects end-to-end, collaborate with a nimble team to solve unique client problems, and bring ideas to life through clever mechanics, sharp visuals, and practical execution.

AI is embedded in how we research, develop, prototype, design, and deliver our work, so you’ll also be expected to use it confidently, experiment with new tools and workflows, and help us continue improving how we work.

What you’ll do 🎯

  • Clarify & diagnose client needs (even when the brief is vague) and turn complex business challenges into clear opportunities for learning and behaviour change.

  • Pitch solutions that clients can instantly understand and get excited about.

  • Join internal problem-cracking sessions to develop learning concepts, mechanics, formats, and experiences from scratch.

  • Design practical, playable, and experiential learning: from interactive workshops and onboarding journeys to games, leadership experiences, team challenges, and large-scale events.

  • Distil complex content into engaging, practical formats (digital and physical).

  • Bring strong graphic design and visual communication to the work, creating polished presentations, participant materials, game assets, print collateral, templates, and other experience touchpoints.

  • Take creative work through to production-ready execution, working confidently across Figma, Canva, Adobe tools, or equivalent, and preparing assets for print, digital, and live environments.

  • Plan and produce live experiences: managing production, coordinating moving parts, and all the practical details required for smooth delivery.

  • Use Google Workspace, Figma/Canva, Miro, Landbot, SpatialChat, GenAI-powered tools (e.g., HeyGen and ElevenLabs) to design, prototype, and deliver.

  • Manage the pace, priorities, dependencies, and moving parts across multiple projects, working independently while keeping clients, teammates, and external partners aligned.

  • Support live delivery on the ground, troubleshooting quickly, adapting when plans change, and making sure the participant experience feels seamless.

You’ll thrive here if you… 💡

  • Are genuinely curious and like having to learn new things quickly.

  • Need variety in your work and enjoy the fact that the challenge, subject matter, client, and format may change from project to project.

  • Are a creative problem-solver who can turn an ambiguous client brief into a clear and practical solution.

  • Understand learning and human behaviour, not just visual communication.

  • Have a strong visual-design instinct and care deeply about how information, materials, and experiences look and feel.

  • Like making things. You don’t want to stop at the strategy or concept; you want to turn the idea into something tangible.

  • Think in systems, principles, and mechanics, rather than looking for an existing template to follow.

  • Are naturally organised. You think ahead, spot dependencies, and take responsibility for getting your work over the line.

  • Are comfortable switching between very different modes of work: a client conversation, a learning mechanic, a Figma file, a print proof, a project plan, or a live workshop.

  • Ask smart questions, move quickly, share rough thinking early, and improve ideas collaboratively.

*Language: Business-fluent English is required; additional European languages are a plus.

This role is not for you if… 🚫
  • You need a detailed playbook or a project manager to keep you on track.
  • You struggle with ambiguity or shifting priorities.
  • You prefer to stick to a single skill (e.g., “just” learning design or “just” visual design).

Must-haves ✅

  • Right to work in Ireland at time of application (e.g., Stamp 4 or equivalent). We’re not able to sponsor visas or employment permits for this role.
  • Corporate or enterprise experience: you’ve worked with, designed for, or delivered solutions to senior stakeholders in large organisations.
  • Hands-on experience with Figma and/or Canva: you have experience using these tools and have strong visual communication and graphic design skills
  • AI fluency and passion to build AI-optimised workflows.

Strongly preferred

  • Experience planning, producing, or supporting live events, workshops, conferences, activations, offsites, or other in-person experiences.

Skills you likely bring 🧰

You don’t need to tick every box. We care more about the combination of skills you bring, and how you think, work, and grow.

  • A background in learning, consulting, creative production, graphic design, experiential events, game design, or a related field.

  • Experience creating learning solutions from scratch, such as workshops, onboarding journeys, games, leadership experiences, team challenges, or facilitated programmes.

  • The ability to distill raw, complex, or messy content into clear visual narratives, practical learning activities, and polished participant-facing materials.

  • Strong instincts for visual hierarchy, layout, typography, and information design, with the ability to make complex content feel simple and engaging.

  • Strong project management and organisational skills, with the ability to manage timelines, priorities, stakeholders, suppliers, and multiple moving parts at once.

  • Confidence working directly with clients and senior stakeholders.

  • Excellent communication, project ownership, and time management, with a high level of attention to detail.

  • A willingness to work across disciplines, learn quickly, and step into what the project needs, whether that is concept development, visual design, production, or logistics.

Working at Player 1 Labs 🌍

  • We’re a small, tight-knit team, which means you’ll have real ownership, visibility, and influence over the work from day one.

  • We work with some of the world’s leading organisations, including Nike, Disney, Coca-Cola, and P&G, across industries, markets, and business challenges.

  • No two weeks look the same. You might be developing a new learning concept, designing participant materials, preparing for a client event, testing a game mechanic, coordinating production, or supporting a live experience.

  • We work collaboratively and iteratively. We share rough ideas early, challenge each other’s thinking, prototype quickly, and improve the work together.

  • You’ll work closely with our founder, the wider team, clients, and external partners, and you’ll be trusted to take ownership and get things moving.

THE KIND OF WORK YOU’LL HELP CREATE…

You’ll work with top industry leaders and build custom solutions end-to-end.
