The role The Senior Legal Counsel provides expert legal advice and guidance across Gippsland Water to support informed decision-making, effective risk management and compliance with legislative and regulatory obligations. The role works across a diverse range of legal matters, including property, environmental, commercial and litigation matters, delivering practical and commercially-focused solutions that support the organisation's strategic objectives and the delivery of essential services to the community. What you’ll bring Bachelor of Laws or Juris Doctor and admission to practice law in Victoria with a minimum of five years post-admission legal experience. Strong experience in property, administrative, commercial and contract law. Demonstrated ability to interpret and apply legislation, regulations and contractual obligations. Excellent analytical, proactive problem-solving and decision-making skills. Outstanding verbal and written communication skills. Highly developed stakeholder engagement and relationship management capabilities. Strong negotiation and dispute resolution skills. The ability to work autonomously, manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
