Senior Linux System Administrator – Enterprise Infrastructure

We are looking for an experienced Linux Infrastructure Engineer to join a complex enterprise infrastructure environment within the banking sector.

In this role, you will be responsible for managing and improving critical Linux systems, automating infrastructure operations, and ensuring high standards of availability, security, and performance across business-critical platforms.

What you’ll do

• Administer and maintain enterprise Linux environments, primarily Red Hat Enterprise Linux.
• Perform system provisioning, patching, security hardening, upgrades, and performance tuning.
• Automate infrastructure and operational tasks using Ansible.
• Manage Red Hat ecosystem components, including Satellite and Identity Management.
• Support and maintain virtualization platforms such as VMware and KVM.
• Configure and operate core infrastructure services, including DNS, NGINX, Apache, HAProxy, Squid, and Keepalived.
• Monitor system health, performance, and availability using tools such as Zabbix and ELK.
• Work with container technologies, including Docker and Podman.
• Support incident resolution, root-cause analysis, and infrastructure troubleshooting.
• Collaborate with networking, security, application, and infrastructure teams to ensure stable and secure operations.
• Contribute to infrastructure documentation, operational procedures, and continuous improvement initiatives.

What we’re looking for

• At least 5 years of experience in Linux systems administration or infrastructure engineering.
• Strong hands-on experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux.
• Practical experience with Ansible and infrastructure automation.
• Solid knowledge of VMware and KVM virtualization technologies.
• Good understanding of networking concepts, including routing, VLANs, DNS, firewalls, and load balancing.
• Experience with enterprise monitoring and logging platforms.
• Knowledge of Linux security hardening, patch management, and access control.
• Experience working in complex, highly regulated, or business-critical environments.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively across technical teams.

Nice to have

• Experience with Kubernetes or other container orchestration platforms.
• Previous experience within banking, financial services, or another regulated industry.
• RHCSA or RHCE certification.
• Familiarity with high-availability and disaster recovery environments.

📍 Location: Hybrid, Bucharest — 3 days per week from the office, with the remaining days remote
