About the team and what we do:

Adjudication Operations is a major area in our Professional Regulation directorate, where we plan, arrange and hold well over 4,000 adjudication events each year.

The role of Adjudication Operations is to facilitate all these events, to ensure their fairness to all parties, and to deliver excellent customer service to all those we encounter, both internal and external.

We are a busy area of over 100 friendly people, including a supportive and collaborative Listings Team who are committed to working together to continuously improve what we do. Our focus is to help ensure that all our events go according to plan and conclude within the time available, which is not as easy as it sounds!

The Senior Listings Officer is a vital part of the Listings Management Team and will provide support and advice to a team of Listings Officers, to ensure that cases progress to a hearing in a timely manner. You will support Listings Managers to oversee the caseload and the accuracy of the scheduling of adjudication events and provide management reports to ensure that we are meeting our targets.

Please note:

Please note, you will be job-sharing this role with another staff member who will be completing their 18 hours during Wednesday to Friday, therefore, to ensure there is cover in place throughout the week, you will be required to complete your 18 hours during Monday to Wednesday.

Your role and impact:

You are someone who enjoys being busy and providing support and advice to the team on complex operational matters.

You may have experience of supervising a team or of supporting others more generally. You are proactive, able to quickly problem solve and prioritise conflicting matters. You have good attention to detail and can provide data and statistical information to Listings Managers to assess performance in different aspects of our work.

You will engage positively with teams in the department and our stakeholders, to ensure we provide a person-centred service. You also enjoy the broader picture and will be able over time to contribute to the wider improvement work across the area.

Additional Information

The role you are applying for is a flexible role, and whilst you will be posted initially to a team, this may require movement between teams as the flow of work dictates. You will of course understand that this flexible approach enables us to provide the best possible service to our registrants and reach the outcomes to our cases quickly and within a reasonable timeframe. This will not change your terms and conditions and will be discussed with you prior to you taking up the post.

Hybrid Working Policy

We are currently working to a policy of office attendance for two days per week with the rest of the time working from home. Before submitting your application, please ensure you are able to commit to working in one of our office locations twice per week. If you are applying for a part-time role, please pro-rata office attendance based on the number of days you would be working.

It is expected that staff new to the NMC will ordinarily be appointed to the bottom of the relevant pay band. However in exceptional circumstances, it may be possible to offer a salary above the bottom of the relevant pay band but we may request proof of current earnings. Please note that we offer an annual review of salaries and adopt a generous progressive pay approach. Further details of which are available on request.

For our internal colleagues, you will be paid in accordance to our internal pay policy.
