Senior Management Accountant

Team: Finance

Location: Remote

Work pattern: Monday-Friday, 35 hours per week

Salary: Up to £56,655.95 per year

Contract: 18 month fixed-term contract

Responsibilities of the Senior Management Accountant:

• Facilitate and manage the budget and forecast process for your assigned Directorate
• Produce and review the monthly management accounts and reports for your Directorate, providing insight and analysis on key variances, risks and opportunities affecting the charity
• Utilise financial and non-financial data to provide timely reports giving insight and expertise to support well-informed financial decision-making and delivery of the charity’s plans
• Responsible for the budgeting, reporting and analysis for capital and change projects across the charity, developing processes to enhance this
• Develop strong working relationships across the charity, building business partnering capability in the team and ensuring high quality support and expertise is provided to your Directorates
• Managing two members of the Management Accountant team, supporting ongoing individual and team development
• Work constructively with the Senior Financial Accountant to ensure processes and priorities are aligned across the whole of the Finance team
  
  

About the Finance team:

The Finance team plays a vital role in the organisation’s success by ensuring sound financial management and a greater level of informed decision making to support the delivery of the overall strategy of the charity. The Management Accountant team are a team of five reporting into two Senior Management Accountants, all of whom support the Head of Budgeting and Reporting. The wider Finance team includes Operational Finance consisting of Financial Accountants, Accounts Payable, Systems, Payroll and Branch Finance.

What we’re looking for in our Senior Management Accountant:

• Fully qualified CCAB accountant
• Experience leading a team of qualified Management Accountants
• Experience in project accounting, specifically capital and change projects
• Experience working in a Senior Management Accountant role in a large organisation (250+ employees) working with budget holders as well as providing support and advice around financial management issues
• Excellent people management, communication and organisational skills with the ability to build and maintain strong working relationships
• Experience using appropriate accounting software and systems/ERP systems
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office - particularly in Excel
