Senior Manager, Accounting and FP&A

Luna is seeking a highly proactive, hands-on Senior Manager, Accounting & FP&A to lead our accounting and financial planning functions while driving a significant transformation of our financial systems, processes, and reporting capabilities. Reporting to the VP of Finance, this role oversees the Accounting Manager and leads budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, management reporting, and financial systems optimization.

A central priority is to transform Luna’s current NetSuite deployment into a fully integrated, highly automated financial management platform. The objective is to eliminate manual processes, connect financial and operational information, and establish scalable capabilities across banking, accounts receivable, KPIs, market-level profitability, budgeting, and forecasting.

The successful candidate combines strong accounting and FP&A expertise with substantial hands-on NetSuite experience and a demonstrated record of financial systems transformation.

NetSuite Transformation, Integration & Automation | Critical Priority

Lead the transformation of Luna’s current NetSuite deployment into a fully integrated, automated, scalable financial management platform.

Assess configurations, integrations, reporting capabilities, and manual workflows; develop and execute a prioritized optimization roadmap with the VP of Finance.

Integrate banking and cash management, including bank feeds, transaction processing, reconciliation, and cash visibility.

Integrate accounts receivable and revenue cycle/collections data, with automated reconciliations and improved AR reporting.

Build automated financial and operational KPI dashboards and market-level P&Ls covering revenue, direct costs, allocated expenses, and profitability.

Integrate budgeting and forecasting with automated actual-versus-budget reporting, rolling forecasts, and scenario modeling.

Reduce spreadsheets, manual transfers, duplicate entry, and disconnected reporting; establish sound data structures, reporting dimensions, and controls.

Evaluate appropriate NetSuite modules and complementary planning/reporting solutions; manage internal resources and external implementation partners.

Deliver measurable improvements in accuracy, close efficiency, reporting timeliness, and management visibility.

Financial Planning & Analysis Leadership

Lead annual budgeting, rolling forecasting, and long-range financial planning.

Develop integrated models for revenue, collections, therapist costs, gross margin, operating expenses, EBITDA, and cash flow.

Own automated monthly performance reporting against budget, forecast, and prior year, at company and market levels.

Build actionable KPI dashboards and partner with Revenue Cycle Management and Operations on collections, cost management, and profitability.

Prepare executive and board-level reports, forecasts, presentations, and scenario analyses; proactively quantify risks and opportunities.

Accounting Leadership & Financial Reporting

Manage, coach, and develop the Accounting Manager and provide oversight of the accounting team.

Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual closes; review statements, significant reconciliations, accruals, and estimates.

Maintain GAAP compliance, effective policies, internal controls, and accurate NetSuite financial data.

Oversee general ledger, accounts payable, AR reconciliations, and cash management; coordinate audit and tax requirements.

Improve close efficiency, reduce manual entries, and ensure accounting information supports FP&A and operational decisions.

Proactive Business Partnership & Continuous Improvement

Anticipate financial, operational, and systems issues and take ownership of implementing solutions.

Partner with operational leaders on financial targets, accountability, margins, operating costs, and cash flow.

Challenge inefficient processes and lead cross-functional improvements with clear milestones, measurable objectives, and accountability.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or MBA preferred.

8+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience, including significant FP&A and management responsibilities.

Substantial hands-on NetSuite experience in configuration, optimization, integration, automation, and reporting.

Demonstrated success leading ERP implementation, optimization, or transformation, including banking, AR, operational data, and reporting integrations.

Advanced financial modeling, budgeting, forecasting, management reporting, and Microsoft Excel capabilities.

Strong GAAP, accounting operations, controls, and financial statement expertise; experience developing finance professionals.

Strong project management, analytical, communication, and cross-functional execution skills.

Preferred Qualifications

Healthcare experience, especially high-volume transactions and complex revenue cycle operations.

Experience automating market-level or business-unit profitability reporting.

Familiarity with NetSuite planning, budgeting, analytics, and reporting capabilities; BILL (Bill.com) and third-party integrations.

Track record of shorter closes, less manual reporting, and improved forecast accuracy.
