Senior Accounting Manager – Operational Accounting (f/m/d)

I am partnering with a listed international technology group is strengthening its Group Accounting function in Berlin (or remote), and this is the role at the centre of it.

The group runs around 20 legal entities across more than +15 countries. Month-end close

You will lead a team of 10 operational accountants, own the group-wide operational accounting processes end to end.

What you will own

• Leadership and development of a team of 10 accountants and senior accountants
• Group-wide operational accounting: accounts payable, accruals, payments, intercompany, transfer pricing, reconciliations and bank accounting interfaces
• The month-end close across all group entities — finding the bottlenecks and removing them
• Harmonisation of accounting processes between entities, with clear ownership and consistent standards
• Standardised templates, controls and SOPs that hold up across borders and teams
• Balance sheet reconciliation quality and audit readiness
• Input into the shape of the finance organisation: hiring, training and structure

What you will bring

• Around 10 years in accounting or finance, ideally within an international group or another multi-entity environment
• Proven leadership of an accounting team — five people or more, with real responsibility for their output and development
• A track record you can point to of shortening a close cycle, cleaning up reconciliations, or standardising process across entities
• Comfort with any major ERP — SAP, Workday, NetSuite, Oracle or Dynamics. No single system is required
• Strong Excel, strong stakeholder skills, and the temperament to work across Finance Systems, Treasury, Tax and Regulatory Reporting without needing formal authority over any of them
• Fluent English. German is not required.
