The Senior Manager, Analytics & Research will design, implement, manage, and execute both analytics and market research initiatives in support of AbbVie's Venclexta CLL business. This is a hybrid role with a primary focus on analytics and secondary responsibility for market research, rolling up into the APEX organization (Analytics and Performance Excellence).
The individual will leverage primary market research, secondary data, advanced analytics, and commercial performance data to generate actionable insights that inform brand strategy and tactical decision-making. This role will partner closely with Marketing, Sales, Forecasting, Finance, and other cross-functional stakeholders to deepen understanding of customer behavior, market dynamics, and business performance. The successful candidate will combine strong analytical skills with strategic thinking and business acumen to translate data into meaningful recommendations.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as a strategic analytics and insights partner to the Venclexta commercial team, developing a deep understanding of business priorities and emerging market trends.
- Lead the design, execution, and interpretation of analytics projects utilizing pharmaceutical data sources including prescribing, claims, patient, payer, and promotional datasets.
- Translate complex data into clear, actionable insights and recommendations that support brand strategy, customer engagement, and business performance objectives.
- Develop and execute measurement plans to evaluate marketing initiatives, customer engagement programs, and in-market tactics, identifying drivers of performance and opportunities for optimization.
- Partner with internal stakeholders and analytics suppliers to scope business questions, prioritize analytical needs, and deliver high-quality insights.
- Integrate learnings across analytics, market research, competitive intelligence, and secondary sources to develop a holistic understanding of market opportunities and business challenges.
- Support the planning and execution of primary market research projects, including objective development, supplier management, questionnaire review, insight generation, and communication of findings.
- Maintain organizational knowledge of key market trends, competitive developments, customer needs, and performance indicators relevant to the Venclexta market.
- Create compelling presentations and tell concise, impactful stories that effectively communicate insights and recommendations to stakeholders across all levels of the organization.
- Build strong relationships and establish credibility as a trusted thought partner by providing objective, customer-focused insights.
- Manage research and analytics projects within budget and ensure all activities comply with financial, legal, and ethical guidelines.
- Demonstrate curiosity regarding evolving analytical approaches, data sources, and insight-generation methodologies to continuously enhance team capabilities.
- Bachelor's degree required, preferably with a concentration in Marketing, Business, Economics, Statistics, Data Analytics, Life Sciences, or related field. Advanced degree preferred (MBA, MS, MPH, PharmD, PhD).
- 4-5+ years of experience in marketing analytics, business analytics, strategic consulting, business intelligence, or related functions within pharmaceuticals, biotech, healthcare, or related industries.
- Strong experience working with pharmaceutical data sources, including physician prescribing, patient-level, claims, payer, specialty pharmacy, formulary, and sales datasets.
- Demonstrated ability to design and execute analytics projects that address key business questions and influence commercial decision-making.
- Ability to synthesize findings across multiple data sources and develop integrated insights and recommendations.
- Strong analytical reasoning, intellectual curiosity, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills with the ability to communicate complex analyses to diverse audiences.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and operate effectively in a fast-paced, matrix environment.
- Strong stakeholder management and collaboration skills, with the ability to influence without authority.
- Oncology experience preferred; hematology/oncology experience strongly preferred.
- Experience leveraging advanced analytics techniques and commercial performance measurement approaches preferred.
