What is the role?

As a Senior Manager in Moore Australia’s Audit & Assurance division, you will lead complex engagements, build trusted client relationships and develop a high-performing team.
Working closely with our Directors and broader leadership group, you will contribute to the division’s quality, growth and commercial performance. You will also help shape the future of audit by championing the responsible adoption of AI, data analytics, automation and digital audit technologies.

What will I be responsible for?

  • Leading the planning, delivery, completion and reporting of complex audit and assurance engagements.
  • Independently managing a significant client portfolio, including engagement quality, scope, timelines, budgets and reporting.
  • Building trusted relationships with clients, boards, Audit and Risk Committees, executives and other senior stakeholders.
  • Providing practical advice on complex accounting, audit, assurance, governance and business matters.
  • Reviewing audit evidence, significant judgements, financial statements and reports before Director sign-off.
  • Maintaining compliance with professional standards, legislation, independence requirements and firm methodology.
  • Leading, coaching and developing managers and team members to create an inclusive, accountable and high-performing team.
  • Managing workflow, resources, engagement budgets, profitability, billings and collections.
  • Championing the responsible use of approved AI, data analytics, automation and digital audit tools.
  • Identifying opportunities to deepen client relationships, win new work and generate referrals.
  • Contributing to proposals, tenders, industry events and thought leadership.
  • Partnering with Directors on divisional strategy, continuous improvement and sustainable growth.

What is required of me?

  • At least 10 years’ professional Audit & Assurance experience.
  • Significant experience in an Australian professional services or public practice environment.
  • Demonstrated experience leading complex external audit and assurance engagements.
  • Proven ability to independently manage a substantial client portfolio with limited Director oversight.
  • Experience working with complex corporate structures, multiple entities and technically challenging matters.
  • Strong people leadership experience, including coaching managers and developing emerging leaders.
  • Demonstrated commercial management and business development capability.
  • Confidence working with boards, Audit and Risk Committees, executives and other senior stakeholders.
  • Expert knowledge of Australian Auditing Standards, Australian Accounting Standards, applicable IFRS Accounting Standards and relevant Australian regulatory requirements.
  • A bachelor’s degree in accounting, commerce, business or a related discipline.
  • Membership of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand, CPA Australia or an equivalent recognised professional body.
  • Experience using Caseware or an equivalent audit platform.
  • Exposure to AI, automation, data analytics or digital audit technologies will be highly regarded.
  • Current legal right to work in Australia.
