Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Manager, Centralized Corporate Accounting to join our corporate accounting organization in Boca Raton, Florida. This role will be responsible for leading and overseeing centralized accounting activities supporting the Company’s renewable power generation portfolio, corporate operations, and external and internal financial reporting.

The Senior Manager will serve as a key accounting subject-matter expert, providing technical accounting guidance while ensuring the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of the monthly and quarterly close. The role will have significant interaction with Corporate Accounting, FP&A, Operations, Treasury, Tax, Legal, external auditors, and other cross-functional teams.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on accounting leader with strong technical accounting knowledge, excellent analytical skills, and experience operating in a complex, multi-entity environment. Experience in the renewable energy or power industry, including project accounting and long-lived assets, is highly valued.

As the Senior Manager, Centralized Corporate Accounting you will:

Corporate Accounting & Financial Close

  • Lead and oversee centralized corporate accounting activities throughout the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes.
  • Review and ensure the accuracy and completeness of general ledger activity, journal entries, accruals, allocations, and other accounting transactions.
  • Review account reconciliations and supporting documentation, ensuring timely resolution of reconciling items.
  • Establish and maintain effective close processes, controls, and timelines to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
  • Partner with accounting teams supporting the Company’s project and operational entities to ensure appropriate accounting treatment and consistency across the organization.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline and automate close activities and improve the efficiency and scalability of the centralized accounting function.

Technical Accounting

  • Provide technical accounting guidance and accounting conclusions for complex transactions and ongoing business activities.
  • Maintain strong working knowledge of U.S. GAAP, particularly accounting for:
    • Property, Plant & Equipment and long-lived assets
    • Asset retirement obligations (AROs)
    • Lease accounting under ASC 842
    • Financing obligations and related accounting
    • Capitalized costs and capitalized interest
  • Support accounting assessments for new contracts, projects, acquisitions, dispositions, financing arrangements, and other significant transactions.
  • Monitor changes in U.S. GAAP and implement their impact on the areas under responsibility.

External Financial Reporting & Audit

  • Prepare and/or review supporting schedules and analyses for quarterly and annual external financial reporting.
  • Develop accurate and well-supported financial statement disclosures and related documentation.
  • Coordinate responses to external audit requests and serve as a key accounting contact for external auditors.
  • Prepare audit support and documentation for significant and complex accounting areas.
  • Partner with the technical accounting and financial reporting functions to ensure consistency between underlying accounting records and external reporting.

Accounts Payable Oversight

  • Serve as the executive escalation point for critical U.S.-based Accounts Payable matters, partnering directly with vendors, business stakeholders, and shared services teams during U.S. business hours to resolve payment disputes, invoice processing delays, vendor account holds, urgent disbursement requests, and other issues that could impact business operations or supplier relationships.
  • Provide oversight of Accounts Payable service delivery, ensuring timely resolution of escalations, appropriate root cause analysis, and implementation of process improvements to enhance vendor satisfaction, strengthen controls, and reduce recurring issues.

Budgeting & Internal Reporting

  • Prepare and review financial analyses supporting the annual budget, forecasts, and other planning activities.
  • Develop analyses and reporting packages for management to support decision-making.
  • Investigate significant variances and trends and communicate key drivers to senior management.
  • Translate accounting and financial data into meaningful business insights.
  • Support management reporting related to operating results, capital expenditures, project activity, and other key financial metrics.

Process Improvement, Systems & Data Analytics

  • Leverage accounting systems and data analytics to improve the quality, efficiency, and scalability of accounting processes.
  • Participate in ERP and financial systems implementations, enhancements, and optimization initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain reporting and analytical tools using Excel, Power BI, and other data analytics platforms.
  • Identify opportunities to automate manual accounting and reporting processes.
  • Partner with Finance, IT, FP&A, and other stakeholders to improve data integrity, reporting capabilities, and system functionality.

Leadership & Cross-Functional Partnership

  • Lead, develop, and mentor accounting professionals while fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Establish clear expectations and provide coaching and feedback to team members.
  • Serve as a trusted accounting partner to Finance, Operations, FP&A, Treasury, Tax, Legal, and other corporate functions.
  • Effectively communicate complex accounting matters to both accounting and non-accounting stakeholders.
  • Promote strong internal controls and compliance with Company policies and applicable accounting standards.

Our Ideal Candidate will have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of relevant accounting experience, within a complex asset-intensive environment.
  • Active CPA license or equivalent professional accounting certification.
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and demonstrated technical accounting experience.
  • Strong technical knowledge of:
    • Property, Plant & Equipment and long-lived assets
    • Asset retirement obligations
    • ASC 842 Lease Accounting
    • Financing obligations
    • Capitalized costs and capitalized interest
  • Demonstrated experience managing or supporting a complex general ledger close process.
  • Strong experience with account reconciliations, journal entries, supporting schedules, financial analysis, and audit support.
  • Prior experience with Yardi and Oracle Fusion
  • Experience with QBI platform.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including complex formulas, data analysis, and large data sets.
  • Experience with capital projects, construction-in-progress, fixed assets, and asset transfers.
  • Experience supporting SOX 404 environments and internal control design and testing.
  • Experience with ERP implementations, including Oracle Fusion.
  • Experience working with offshore or geographically distributed accounting teams.
  • Experience supporting mergers, acquisitions, dispositions, refinancing transactions, or other complex corporate transactions.
  • Big Four public accounting experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in the renewable power, solar, battery storage, independent power producer (IPP), or energy infrastructure industry.
  • Experience with project accounting and accounting for renewable energy assets.
  • Experience with Power BI and data analytics, including the ability to transform financial data into meaningful management reporting.
  • Experience managing vendor relationships, service delivery, and escalation resolution within a U.S.-based Accounts Payable environment.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight reporting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently while effectively collaborating across functions and levels of the organization.
