We are looking for an experienced and forward-thinking Product Leader to take ownership of a critical product portfolio, steer multi-year product roadmaps, and champion exceptional customer outcomes across all channels.

About the Role

Reporting directly to the General Manager Products & Analysis and serving as an integral member of the Product & Analysis Leadership Team, this senior role carries end-to-end accountability across your designated product sets.

Operating with autonomy and strategic vision, you will shape and implement a forward-looking product roadmap, guide product simplification and rationalisation, and lead commercial pricing strategies that drive sustainable portfolio performance.

Key Responsibilities include:

• Strategic Planning & Roadmapping: Define and execute customer-centric product strategies and multi-year roadmaps aligned with enterprise pillars, ensuring balance between customer needs, commercial viability, and channel execution.
• End-to-End Product Lifecycle: Manage the full product lifecycle in accordance with our Product Lifecycle Framework—from conceptualisation, business case approval, and go-to-market execution, through to continuous optimization and product simplification.
• Performance, Pricing & Portfolio Economics: Own pricing structures and financial frameworks, driving portfolio profitability, balance sheet growth, and margin management while articulating clear customer value.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with Distribution, Marketing, Digital Channels, Transformation, and front-line bankers to deliver cohesive, frictionless experiences across branch, mobile, phone, and digital channels.
• Technical & Backlog Prioritisation: Translate strategic customer and business needs into actionable product specifications, working directly with delivery squads to manage backlogs, craft user stories, and guide trade-off decisions.
• Proactive Risk & Governance: Embed a strong risk culture, ensuring products remain fully compliant with regulatory frameworks, APRA prudential standards, and ethical market practices.
• Team Leadership & Capability: Inspire, mentor, and foster high performance within the Product team, driving a continuous improvement mindset and celebrating collective achievements.

What You’ll Bring

You are a lateral thinker, strategic influencer, and seasoned product professional with deep financial services expertise and a strong commercial track record.

We are seeking:

• Proven Product Leadership: Demonstrated experience developing, embedding, and executing product roadmaps, pricing models, and portfolio strategies within retail or business financial services.
• Commercial & Analytical Acumen: Strong financial literacy with experience managing portfolio P&Ls, margin dynamics, pricing elasticity, and performance KPIs.
• Delivery & Agile Savvy: Hands-on experience translating customer needs into product features, working with delivery backlogs, and managing agile product delivery.
• Influencing & Stakeholder Mastery: Exceptional communication skills with the ability to build trust, influence senior executives, and unite diverse teams across distribution, risk, and technology.
• Prudential & Regulatory Soundness: A solid understanding of the Australian financial services regulatory landscape, product governance standards, and customer care principles.
• Inspirational Mentorship: Proven capability to lead, develop, and uplift team members in a collaborative, learning-focused environment.
