In this role, you'll:
Work for Sydney Trains within the Suburban Services Division, Day of Operations Branch.
The Senior Manager Day of Operations is responsible for leading and delivering all aspects of live train crewing operations, including train crew resourcing, allocation and train crew liaison for the Sydney Trains network , across a 24/07 roster.
You will drive transformational change and develop and implement strategies, plans and projects for continuous improvement and risk mitigation for incident recovery, degraded mode and of frontline service delivery.
The role will be based at the Rail Operations Centre (ROC) in Alexandria and is an onsite permanent role. Shift pattern & hours: 8-hour rotating shifts across a 24/7 operation .Availability required across weekends and public holidays. Shift times include:
5:30am – 1:30pm
1:30pm – 9:30pm
9:30pm – 5:30am
Rotating roster with no fixed pattern - typically worked in blocks of 4 consecutive days 4-week rotating roster. Average of 18 working days per month.

About you
You will possess:
• Senior leadership level industry experience.
• Experience in day-to-day operations management within a complex, live 24/7 operational environment, such as logistics and freight, transportation operations, rail operations, emergency services, airline operations, crew scheduling, utilities operations, network operations, or similar.
• Demonstrated experience in maintaining stability within a volatile environment, making decisions, and resolving performance and operational issues that impact the reliability and availability of operational services.
• Ability to work a 24/7 shift rotation roster.
• Category 4 medical check, or the ability to obtain one.
