The opportunity

At Netwealth, effective risk management is not simply about meeting regulatory requirements. It is about giving our people the confidence, clarity and support to make good decisions as the business continues to grow.

We are looking for a Senior Manager, Enterprise Risk and Compliance to lead the implementation and ongoing maturity of our enterprise risk management and compliance frameworks. This is an influential role that will work across the organisation, providing practical advice, strengthening risk practices and helping embed a proactive and accountable risk culture.

You will join our Enterprise Risk and Compliance team within the broader Risk, Legal and Governance function. The team provides oversight, governance and support across a diverse financial services group that includes an administrator, custodian, IDPS operator, responsible entity and superannuation trustee.

What you will do

  • Lead the ongoing development and maturity of Netwealth’s risk management framework

  • Support the implementation of regulatory change and strengthen the processes used to manage risk profiles and monitor control effectiveness

  • Oversee risk and control data quality, operations and reporting within Protecht

  • Manage compliance plans for Netwealth Investments Limited managed investment schemes, including coordinating the annual external audit

  • Support the maintenance of the obligations management register and monitor compliance with relevant Financial Services Council standards

  • Provide clear, timely and commercially practical risk and compliance advice to stakeholders across the business

  • Guide and support Risk and Compliance Business Partners

  • Deliver meaningful reporting to executives, committees and boards

  • Build strong stakeholder relationships and help embed a more mature risk culture across the organisation

What you will bring

  • You will be an experienced risk or compliance leader who can move confidently between strategic frameworks, regulatory obligations and practical business advice.

  • At least 7 years of risk or compliance experience within banking or financial services

  • Strong experience designing, implementing and maturing risk management and compliance frameworks

  • A sound working knowledge of AFSL requirements and broader financial services compliance obligations

  • Experience within managed investments, IDPS or superannuation, which would be highly regarded

  • Strong analytical, problem solving and decision making capability

  • Experience leading change and delivering initiatives that require strong business engagement

  • The ability to communicate complex risk and compliance matters clearly to senior stakeholders

  • Strong judgement, organisation and stakeholder management skills

  • A relevant qualification in law, finance, business or a related discipline, which would be advantageous
