The Opportunity:
The Senior Finance Manager, Mission Delivery provides financial leadership and team oversight across government-funded, fee-for-service, and philanthropy portfolios, with accountability for reporting, planning, compliance, controls, analysis, and the accurate management of contract, service, fundraising, public support, restricted revenue, and deferred revenue.
Responsibilities:
Financial Leadership and Team Management
-
Lead, coach, and develop the finance team by setting clear accountabilities, priorities, service standards, and performance expectations, and providing oversight on complex accounting, reporting, funding, revenue, and operational matters.

Manage workload, succession, cross-training, and business continuity while fostering a collaborative, accountable, customer-focused, and continuous improvement culture.
Financial Reporting and Analysis
-
Oversee accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end reporting for revenues, expenses, accruals, and balance sheet accounts; analyze results, trends, risks, opportunities, and variances; and provide actionable recommendations to operational, fundraising, and senior leaders.

Support executive and Board-level reporting requirements as needed.
Budgeting and Forecasting
-
Lead annual budgets, forecasts, and financial planning with program and Philanthropy leaders, developing and challenging realistic revenue, expense, staffing, and operational assumptions aligned with funding requirements and organizational objectives.

Monitor performance, recommend corrective actions, and support long-term planning, fundraising revenue forecasting, and resource allocation.
Philanthropy Revenue and Deferred Revenue Oversight
-
Oversee accounting, reconciliation, forecasting, reporting, controls, and revenue recognition for public fundraising, donor-related, deferred, and restricted revenue, including donor restrictions and related financial risks.

Oversee fundraising platforms and CRM-to-ERP processes, resolve reconciliation and data gaps, and partner with Philanthropy leadership on campaign, initiative, and financial performance reporting.
Funding, Grant, and Contract Management
-
Oversee government-funded, fee-for-service, grant, restricted, and contract program finances and related revenue, and approve funder reports, claims, reconciliations, and submissions, ensuring compliance with agreements and eligible expenditure requirements while monitoring utilization, recoveries, deferred revenue, and risks.

Provide financial analysis for new funding and service opportunities, contract renewals, pricing, and program expansions.
Financial Operations and Internal Controls
-
Oversee month-end and year-end accounting, including journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, allocations, revenue recognition, balance sheet items, accounts receivable and payable, invoicing, cash receipts, and corporate credit cards.

Maintain strong review and approval processes and address significant financial, compliance, operational, and control risks.
Financial Systems and Process Improvement
-
Support effective use and improvement of Dynamics 365, Prophix, Salesforce, Microsoft CRM, Power BI, fundraising systems, and reporting tools, ensuring complete, accurate, and reconciled information.

Lead improvements in efficiency, reporting quality, controls, service delivery, standardization, documentation, scalability, and backup coverage.
Audit and Compliance
-
Coordinate accurate and timely external audit schedules, documentation, reconciliations, and responses.

Ensure compliance with policies, accounting standards, funding requirements, donor restrictions, and delegated authorities, and implement audit and process-review recommendations.
Qualifications:
-
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, Business Administration, or a related discipline; Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation required.

Minimum 7–10 years of progressive accounting and financial management experience, including finance team leadership and development.
-
Strong reporting, budgeting, forecasting, analysis, controls, business partnering, revenue recognition, deferred or restricted revenue, grant, contract, and funder reporting experience. Complex multi-program not-for-profit, fundraising, social services, healthcare, or government-funded experience preferred.

Advanced Excel and finance, CRM, fundraising, planning, and reporting systems experience. Dynamics 365, Prophix, Salesforce, Microsoft CRM, and Power BI are assets.

Strong judgment, analytical, problem-solving, communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to manage priorities and lead change.

Salary: $107,948–$134,935 annually

Hours: 35 hours per week

Work Arrangement: Hybrid, with three days per week at the National Office at 99 Duncan Mill Road, Toronto, Ontario.
