Job Description:

The role

You are the person franchise owners trust with their paid media, and local is where this job is won. You will have a strong agency partner behind you, handling campaign builds, optimization, and daily execution. You own the franchisee relationship, make sure local advertising performs in every market, direct the agency's work, and lead a small in-house team. You also keep the agency and each brand's marketing leaders aligned, so national and local advertising work together.

Because TMS is opt-in, our franchisees are clients who choose to work with us. This role exists to make sure that choice keeps paying off for them. It is a player-coach position: you will lead the most important franchisee conversations yourself and develop the team around you.

We are an AI-forward team that likes to test new things. You will use AI tools in your daily work, and we expect you to keep finding new ways they can make the program faster and better for franchisees.

What you'll do

Own franchisee relationships

  • Serve as the main paid media contact for our highest-spend franchisees and those who need the most support.
  • Explain performance in terms an owner cares about: leads, cost per lead, and booked jobs.
  • Lead conversations about results, budgets, and strategy, including the difficult ones.
  • Set clear, honest expectations about what paid media can and can't do.
  • Onboard new franchisees into the program and make their first 90 days strong.
  • Introduce franchisees who aren't yet enrolled to what TMS can do for their business.
  • Own retention and participation for the paid media program.
  • Present results and plans to brand leaders and franchise advisory councils.

Make local paid media perform

  • Be the local expert franchisees work with, backed by a strong agency that does the builds and optimization.
  • Know what good looks like for a local service business: Local Services Ads, local search, and paid social inside a single territory.
  • Bring each market's reality to the agency: territory boundaries, seasonality, competition, and service mix.
  • Make sure small budgets work. Many franchisees spend modestly, and every dollar has to produce leads.
  • Track results from lead to booked job, and get the agency moving quickly when a market underperforms.
  • Turn what works in one market into a playbook other franchisees can use.

Lead and develop the team

  • Manage two paid media team members who handle franchisee requests, reporting, and agency coordination.
  • Coach the team on client communication through call shadowing, feedback, and regular one-on-ones.
  • Set clear guidelines for when and how issues are escalated.

Direct our agency partner

  • Manage the agency against a scorecard and agreed service levels.
  • Review account performance and pacing, and keep quality high.
  • Turn franchisee and brand priorities into clear direction for the agency.

Coordinate brand-level paid media

  • Work with the agency and each brand's marketing leaders as the agency develops brand-level paid media strategy.
  • Review the agency's plans and pressure-test them against what you hear from franchisees.
  • Track national ad fund paid media budgets and report results to brand leadership.
  • Make sure national campaigns and local franchisee advertising support each other.

Run the program

  • Own monthly franchisee reporting and the request intake process.
  • Build AI into how the team works: reporting, performance analysis, franchisee communication, and agency QA.

Test new channels

  • Look for new ad platforms and formats that could work for home services, such as Reddit ads and podcast networks.
  • Run small, structured pilots with the agency where a channel looks viable, with a clear budget and success measures set up front.
  • Scale what works, stop what doesn't, and share what you learn across brands.

What you bring

  • 6+ years in paid media, including at least 3 in a client-facing account leadership role at an agency or multi-location brand.
  • Deep local paid media experience: lead generation for local service businesses across many small-budget accounts.
  • Strong working knowledge of Local Services Ads, Google Ads (including YouTube), Microsoft Advertising (Bing), Meta, and CTV. You can open an account, read it, and ask sharp questions.
  • A track record of building long-term relationships with small business owners or franchisees.
  • Hands-on, daily use of AI tools in your current work, with specific examples of time saved or results improved.
  • Curiosity about new channels, with at least one example of piloting a platform beyond the standard mix.
  • Experience managing an agency or vendor to performance targets.
  • Experience managing or mentoring people, especially on client communication.
  • Clear, plain writing and speaking. You can deliver tough news and keep the relationship strong.
  • Comfort with numbers: budgets, pacing, cost per lead, and return on ad spend.

Nice to have

  • Franchise experience on the franchisor, franchisee, or agency side.
  • Home services marketing experience.
  • Experience with national or brand-level paid media alongside local.
  • Experience planning and measuring CTV or streaming campaigns at the local market level.
  • Familiarity with call tracking and lead-to-job reporting.
  • Experience building your own AI workflows, automations, or custom tools.

Salary Range: $85,000 - $95,000
