Career Path: Potential progression to Director of Growth Marketing
Pivot is a growing B2B SaaS company serving the restaurant and hospitality industry. Having established strong traction in Quebec, we are entering an exciting new phase focused on accelerating recurring revenue, expanding into new markets, and scaling our go-to-market engine.
We are looking for a strategic, analytical, and highly hands-on Senior Manager, Growth Marketing & Lifecycle to build our demand generation and lifecycle marketing capabilities from the ground up.
This is a foundational marketing hire with significant ownership and visibility.
You will work closely with our revenue leadership and founders to design, execute, and optimize scalable marketing programs that generate qualified demand, accelerate pipeline conversion, and contribute directly to ARR growth.
We are looking for a builder, not just a campaign manager: someone equally comfortable developing a growth strategy, building an automated email journey, analyzing funnel performance, and personally launching campaigns.
The role offers a potential path toward Director of Growth Marketing as the business scales.
1. Demand Generation & Pipeline Growth
- Develop and execute an integrated B2B demand generation strategy aligned with revenue targets and target markets.
- Build repeatable inbound and outbound marketing programs targeting restaurant operators, multi-location groups, and hospitality decision-makers.
- Execute targeted email campaigns, lead generation initiatives, webinars, content programs, and partner-supported campaigns.
- Partner closely with Sales to improve lead quality, opportunity creation, and pipeline velocity.
- Test and scale acquisition channels based on measurable pipeline contribution and ROI.
2. Email Marketing, CRM & Lifecycle Automation
- Own the end-to-end email marketing strategy, from segmentation and campaign execution to automation and performance optimization.
- Build automated lead nurturing, onboarding, re-engagement, and customer lifecycle journeys.
- Design workflows that move prospects from initial engagement through qualification, demo booking, and sales conversion.
- Establish lead scoring, segmentation, and automated sales handoff processes.
- Manage email deliverability, list hygiene, consent, and compliance with applicable Canadian and U.S. marketing regulations.
- Continuously improve conversion through A/B testing, personalization, and behavioural triggers.
3. Marketing Operations & Analytics
- Establish the foundational marketing technology stack, processes, reporting, and automation infrastructure.
- Own marketing funnel definitions and reporting in collaboration with Sales and Revenue Operations.
- Track marketing-sourced and marketing-influenced pipeline, lead-to-opportunity conversion, campaign ROI, and customer acquisition efficiency.
- Develop dashboards and regular performance reviews to guide investment decisions.
- Maintain CRM data quality and ensure reliable attribution.
4. Conversion Rate Optimization & Growth Experimentation
- Optimize landing pages, forms, calls to action, and demo-booking conversion journeys.
- Design and run structured growth experiments across channels, audiences, messaging, and offers.
- Analyze customer and prospect behaviour to identify funnel bottlenecks.
- Prioritize experiments based on expected impact, cost, and speed of execution.
5. Market Expansion & Partner Marketing
- Support demand generation for Pivot's expansion beyond Quebec, including targeted U.S. market entry.
- Develop localized campaigns and account-based marketing initiatives for priority geographic markets.
- Collaborate with strategic POS, payroll, and industry partners on co-marketing, webinars, campaigns, and lead generation.
- Support event and trade-show demand generation, including pre-event outreach and post-event conversion programs.
6. Building the Marketing Function
- Develop a scalable marketing playbook, campaign calendar, processes, and performance reporting.
- Manage external freelancers, agencies, and specialized vendors where appropriate.
- Identify future marketing capabilities and hiring needs as the company scales.
- Evolve into broader marketing leadership responsibilities based on demonstrated results and organizational growth.
Required Qualifications
- 5–7+ years of experience in B2B growth marketing, demand generation, lifecycle marketing, or marketing automation.
- Demonstrated success generating qualified pipeline and improving funnel conversion.
- Advanced hands-on experience with email marketing, CRM automation, lead nurturing, and audience segmentation.
- Experience with platforms such as HubSpot, ActiveCampaign, Customer.io, Salesforce, or equivalent tools.
- Strong analytical capabilities, including funnel reporting, attribution, A/B testing, and marketing ROI.
- Ability to write and execute effective B2B email campaigns independently.
- Experience collaborating closely with SDRs, Account Executives, and revenue leadership.
- Comfortable operating in an early-stage environment with limited resources, changing priorities, and significant ownership.
- Professional proficiency in French and English to support Quebec and broader North American growth.
Strong Assets
- Previous experience at a Seed or Series A B2B SaaS startup.
- Experience building marketing programs or functions from scratch.
- Hospitality technology, restaurant operations, POS, or workforce management industry exposure.
- Experience launching campaigns in new geographic markets, especially the United States.
- Partner marketing and account-based marketing experience.
- Experience managing freelancers, agencies, or junior marketing team members.
- Strong proficiency with AI-powered marketing and productivity tools.
First 90 Days
- Complete a marketing funnel, CRM, and customer journey assessment.
- Establish baseline KPIs and marketing reporting.
- Launch initial segmented email nurture and reactivation campaigns.
- Identify and execute the first high-priority demand generation experiments.
- Deliver a prioritized 6-month marketing roadmap.
Within 6 - 12 Months
- Establish repeatable demand generation and lifecycle marketing programs.
- Demonstrate measurable improvements in lead-to-demo and demo-to-opportunity conversion.
- Generate a consistent flow of qualified opportunities from marketing programs.
- Launch scalable co-marketing and geographic expansion campaigns.
- Establish marketing-sourced pipeline reporting and channel performance visibility.
- Build a measurable and repeatable marketing engine contributing to ARR growth.
- Demonstrate improved marketing efficiency and conversion performance.
- Establish the operational foundation to scale the marketing function.
- Present a clear roadmap for future marketing investments, capabilities, and team expansion.
- Build a marketing function from the ground up, with genuine ownership and influence.
- Work directly with founders and senior revenue leadership.
- Play a central role in Pivot's next stage of growth and North American expansion.
- Operate in an entrepreneurial environment where experimentation and measurable impact matter.
- Grow into a broader marketing leadership position as the company scales.
