Every day, millions of Australians connect, work, stream, and stay in touch on the Optus network. When it works seamlessly, it’s easy to take for granted. But behind it is a team making thousands of decisions every day - decisions that keep people, businesses and communities connected.
Right now, Optus is focused on getting the fundamentals right - simplifying how we work, lifting standards, and building a more reliable, resilient experience for our customers.
It’s not about surface-level change. It’s about how we make decisions, how we work together, and how we deliver.
As the Senior Manager IT, Integrated Audit, you will play a critical role in embedding technology, cyber security, artificial intelligence, systems and data risk considerations across the Internal Audit portfolio. Working closely with audit leaders and engagement teams, you will ensure technology-related risks and controls are consistently integrated into audit planning, fieldwork, reporting and issue follow-up. This role provides specialist IT audit leadership, drives continuous improvement in integrated assurance practices, and delivers strategic insights that support resilient, secure and well-governed business outcomes across the organisation.
The Day to Day
- Lead the integration of technology, cyber security, artificial intelligence, systems and data risk considerations across the Internal Audit portfolio, ensuring appropriate coverage within audit planning, testing and reporting activities.
- Partner with audit leaders and engagement teams to identify, assess and challenge technology-related risks, controls and dependencies, providing specialist guidance and escalating material gaps where required.
- Provide expert oversight of technology assurance, including cyber security, cloud, data governance, application controls, identity and access management, resilience, third-party risk and digital transformation initiatives.
- Build capability across the Internal Audit function by coaching audit teams, developing integrated audit methodologies, and promoting consistent approaches to technology-enabled risk assessment and assurance.
What You Bring
- Significant experience in IT Audit, Technology Risk, Cyber Security, Data Risk or IT Assurance, ideally within a complex, highly regulated or technology-driven environment.
- Proven ability to integrate technology, cyber, data and systems risks into operational, financial, regulatory, transformation and customer-focused audits.
- Strong understanding of technology control frameworks, cyber security principles, cloud technologies, identity and access management, resilience, data governance, automated controls and third-party technology risk.
- Excellent stakeholder management, influencing and communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into practical business insights for executives and Board-level audiences.
- Experience gained within a Big 4 consulting firm (Deloitte, PwC, EY or KPMG) in Technology Risk, IT Audit, Cyber Security, IT Assurance or Digital Risk Advisory will be highly regarded.
The good stuff
