Do you enjoy helping businesses make better strategic choices? Are you energized by uncovering growth opportunities, shaping portfolio strategy, and influencing commercial decisions in the animal health and nutrition market?
At Novonesis, we help our customers improve animal health, productivity, and sustainability through innovative biosolutions. As Senior Manager, Market Strategy & Portfolio Management, for our North America Animal group, you will play a critical role in defining where we compete, how we win, and where we invest across our North American Animal business. The Role & Your Impact
As a member of the North American Animal Leadership Team, you will bring an independent strategic perspective to commercial decision-making while helping align regional and global priorities. This highly visible role combines market strategy, portfolio management, pricing leadership, team development, and commercialization to drive sustainable business growth.
Key responsibilities include:
- Set the North American market and portfolio strategy across beef, dairy, silage, swine, poultry, and pet, identifying the priorities and choices that will drive sustainable growth and profitability.
- Lead and develop the Animal regional marketing team, translating market strategy into clear priorities for marketing communications, sales enablement, trade shows, and customer engagement while guiding the effective use of the regional marketing budget.
- Serve as a senior strategic partner on the commercial leadership team by bringing an independent point of view, challenging assumptions, and guiding decisions on markets, customers, pricing, and investments.
- Own portfolio performance and strategic planning using market, customer, competitive, and financial insights to recommend where to invest, position, build, partner, or deprioritize.
- Identify and shape new growth opportunities including market white spaces, portfolio gaps, new segments, channel opportunities, and unmet customer needs, and build the case for action.
- Set the commercial strategy for priority product launches, aligning sales, technical, global marketing, and other teams around target customers, positioning, pricing, adoption plans, and measures of success.
- Guide strategic pricing and major customer negotiations, helping account teams evaluate value, competitive position, profitability, trade-offs, and long-term business potential.
- Represent North America in senior regional and global forums influencing portfolio, innovation, investment, and commercial priorities while mobilizing cross-functional teams to deliver agreed plans.
What You’ll Need to Be Successful
- Bachelor's degree in Animal Science, Agriculture, Business, Marketing, or a related field. MBA, Master's degree, or other advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum 12 years of progressive experience within animal nutrition, animal health, feed additives, livestock production, agribusiness, or a closely related industry.
- Previous people leadership experience, including developing talent and leading commercial or marketing professionals.
- Significant experience in strategic marketing, portfolio management, commercial strategy, business development, product management, or a combination of these disciplines.
- Demonstrated success developing growth strategies and influencing senior leaders on commercial, portfolio, and investment decisions.
- Strong knowledge of animal production segments, with the ability to build credibility across beef, dairy, silage, swine, poultry, and pet markets.
- Experience leading strategic pricing initiatives, product commercialization efforts, market development programs, and complex customer opportunities.
- Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to translate complex market insights into clear business recommendations.
- Strong stakeholder management, communication, and influencing capabilities.
