About the Position:
Reporting to the Director, Network Planning, the Senior Manager, Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) is responsible for leading the end-to-end S&OP process across Cabaletta Bio's cell therapy supply chain. This role ensures alignment between patient demand, manufacturing capacity, inventory strategies, and financial objectives through a structured planning process and effective cross-functional decision-making.
This role leads the monthly S&OP/IBP cycle, providing visibility into patient demand signals, supply constraints (including CDMO capacity, lead times, and regulatory factors), and associated risks. The Sr. Manager drives scenario planning, aligns operational plans and leads a team responsible for global supply planning and inventory management.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the global monthly S&OP cycle, including Demand Review and Supply Review, and support the Executive S&OP. Partner with Clinical, Commercial, Finance, Quality, Regulatory, and Manufacturing to produce a single, aligned operating plan.
- Build and maintain a consensus demand plan for clinical and commercial products, informed by patient enrollment, apheresis scheduling, and treatment forecasts, and clearly communicate gaps, risks, and opportunities.
- Prepare executive S&OP materials that frame key decisions, trade-offs, and recommendations, and track decisions and action items through to closure.
- Oversee the development and maintenance of end-to-end supply models across the cell therapy value chain, including master cell banks (MCB), plasmids, lentiviral vector (LVV), apheresis, drug product (DP), and product control and reference standards.
- Guide the team in modeling long-range requirements for MCB, plasmid, and LVV, accounting for campaign timing, lot yields, release testing lead times, and stability, so that critical starting materials are available ahead of patient demand.
- Ensure patient demand is accurately translated into apheresis collection and DP manufacturing slot requirements, incorporating vein-to-vein timelines, manufacturing success rates, and capacity constraints.
- Ensure supply plans for product control and reference standards support release testing, stability programs, and comparability studies, including timely replenishment and requalification.
- Identify, quantify, and escalate supply constraints, including CDMO manufacturing slot capacity, material and manufacturing lead times, and regulatory dependencies such as approvals, site registrations, and post-approval changes.
- Partner with Supplier Management and CDMOs on forecast alignment, slot offer communication, and long-range capacity planning.
- Lead scenario planning on supply, inventory, and capacity risks, translate the results into clear options for executive decisions, and recommend network design changes where structural issues arise.
- Oversee inventory strategy execution for critical materials, including reconciliation, shelf-life and expiry management, and minimizing excess and obsolete (E&O) write-offs.
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of supply planning and inventory professionals, building modeling capability and succession depth.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent (preferred concentration in Engineering, Supply Chain, or Business Management/Sciences); advanced degree (MBA or MS) a plus.
- 7-10 years of progressive supply chain experience spanning demand planning, supply planning, and/or S&OP. Relevant experience in autologous cell & gene therapy is ideal.
- People leadership experience
- Demonstrated ability to facilitate executive-level discussions, synthesize complex data into clear recommendations, and influence cross-functional stakeholders.
- Experience with ERP (NetSuite preferred) and planning systems and advanced Excel skills; experience with BI/visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) a plus.
- APICS (CPIM/CSCP) or similar certification preferred.
- Working knowledge of regulatory frameworks (FDA, EMA, etc.), GMP manufacturing, and GMP storage requirements.
