The statutory and regulatory Manager has an essential role to play in ensuring that the regulatory and reporting obligations are met and executed to a high standard, delivered on time and compliant with accounting and prudential standards. They will lead initiatives to continually improve & automate processes and reporting to drive and deliver finance transformation. The role will cover the activities and entities across Latitude Financial Services in Australia and New Zealand and include technical accounting advice, accounting policy and company financial status. You will work closely with the broader Finance Department to ensure compliance, business drivers and financial outcomes are understood and delivered. The role is critical in providing support to the Statutory and Regulatory Reporting Leader to ensure that the business is fully compliant with external reporting requirements. Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities Strategy & Growth Actively contribute to the business strategy, achieving personal and departmental goals that align to Latitude and the Finance Function objectives. Initiate and lead finance transformation initiatives, with a focus on automation, including maximising Certent Disclosure Management system (CDM) capabilities and utilising Workday reporting functionality to our advantage. Financial Management Preparation and monitoring of company’s financial position including around dividend repatriation and solvency, ensuring the financial position is in accordance all relevant regulatory requirements and providing analysis to Directors and Senior Management. Provide critical technical accounting advice to ensure key changes in accounting pronouncements are communicated and their impact is modelled. Assist with technical accounting determination of any business combinations or structural changes. Responsible for ongoing hedge accounting requirements under AASB 139/9. Utilise business acumen to facilitate financial control, compliance and mitigation of risk. Regulatory Reporting Assist in the oversight and be involved with the review process for the submission of the APRA, RBA, RBNZ, ABS and Statistics NZ reporting cycles – ensuring all submissions are completed on time and compliant with requirements. Keep up to date with APRA guidelines and the implementation of the new EFS reporting framework & ensure standards are understood, documented and communicated. Liaise with Regulators as required. Statutory Reporting Lead and be actively engaged in the Latitude Group Statutory Reporting process at year-end and half-year, including use of CDM disclosure software to prepare the external financial reports and Internal Directors’ reports. Prepare presentations & packs necessary to contribute to Management discussion and analysis supporting the financial statements and any other reporting as required. Engage with the Finance Leadership Team and Company Directors to present results and other analysis. Operational Risk Management Execute responsibilities in accordance with the Enterprise Risk Management Framework for Regulatory and Statutory Reporting areas, including raising risk events, being aware of Protecht registers and assisting with issue registers. Provide reporting for the Audit Committee. Experience Minimum 6 years in a statutory, regulatory, or management reporting role within Banking or Financial Services Securitised lending and hedge accounting practical experience/accounting knowledge highly favoured Experience of Certent Disclosure Management (CDM) software or Workday Finance ERP would be advantageous Technically proficient with a sound knowledge of Australian and New Zealand accounting standards Understanding of relevant legislative and regulatory requirements, including APRA and current compliance practices Insurance Accounting and regulatory requirement knowledge is not required, but looked upon favourably Bachelor’s degree preferred, majoring in accounting or finance/business CA/CPA AI-native - regularly leverages AI tools to enhance decision-making, automate reporting, accelerate content creation, and drive greater efficiency across your team Sometimes the best candidates don’t have 100% of what is listed above, but if you have most and are confident, you’d be a good fit, we’d love to hear from you!
