In this role you'll have ultimate accountability over the success of both the regulatory and operational activities of the Compliance function by building team capabilities and expectations, assigning evolving responsibilities to relevant team members, and examining deliverables and processes across span. The Senior Manager will oversee continuous and rigorous evaluations of audit approaches to understand potential roadblocks and may become actively involved in daily operations when required to meet timelines or resolve complex and escalated problems. Work will require a high capacity to collaborate across cross functional teams, proficient knowledge of compliance frameworks and best practices, strong attention to detail, and ability to hold others accountable for executing on performance and compliance obligations. As a Senior Manager of Transmission & Distribution Regulatory & Compliance, your work will help power our planet, reduce carbon emissions and create cleaner air for everyone. Responsibilities Maintains relationships with key players within the energy sector, including policy makers, regulatory agencies, and industry participants. Develops and integrates appropriate regulatory controls within systems and processes. Manages and oversees a list of contracts, grants, and cooperative agreements. Represents the organization's best interest through input to consultation processes. Builds relationships with relevant regulators, energy infrastructure operators, exchanges and relevant counterparties through active participation in consultation processes, regulatory enquiries and industry forums. Oversees regulatory compliance, administration, tariffs, and terms and conditions of service. Develops and implements regulatory strategies and policies that support business strategies. Manages and engages with relevant agencies and participates in policymaking processes. Manages external counsel and consultants as necessary to achieve policy objectives aligned to the company's objectives. A material job duty of all positions within the Company is ensuring the protection of all its physical, financial and cybersecurity assets, and properly accessing and managing private customer data, proprietary information, confidential medical records, and other types of highly sensitive information and data with the highest standards of conduct and integrity. Minimum Qualifications Five or more years of experience supervising a team of direct reports and/or project management. Experience with regulatory filings, proceedings, compliance, administration, tariffs, and/or terms and conditions of service. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s degree or higher in Energy or Public Policy, Engineering, Finance, Accounting, Political Science, or a related field, with coursework or professional experience emphasizing regulatory compliance, governance, risk, or internal controls. Active compliance-related certification, such as Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Compliance & Ethics Professional (CCEP), or a comparable credential. Seasoned leadership experience guiding managers and senior-level professionals, with a demonstrated ability to build trust, clarify expectations, develop talent, and empower teams through organizational change without relying on a highly directive management style. Experience building, leading, or maturing an enterprise or business-unit compliance program in a complex operating environment, including identifying program gaps, defining governance, assigning accountable owners, and establishing sustainable processes, controls, training, and documentation. Deep understanding of compliance frameworks and the ability to translate regulatory, legislative, or policy requirements into practical business processes, clear ownership, measurable controls, and effective day-to-day execution. Experience leading audit readiness and remediation activities, including responding to regulator or auditor data requests, assembling defensible documentation, evaluating findings, implementing immediate corrective actions, and driving long-term solutions that prevent recurrence. Demonstrated success applying risk-based judgment to assess compliance gaps, evaluate business and regulatory impacts, prioritize competing obligations, and make disciplined trade-offs while maintaining ongoing operations. Exceptional relationship-building, influencing, writing, presentation, and organizational skills, with the ability to gain alignment across legal, audit, ethics and compliance, regulatory, technical, and operational teams—including stakeholders who may not initially recognize their role in compliance. Additional Information The position’s work mode is remote . Employee is able to work primarily at home or remote however, the employee may be expected to come to an SCE facility on occasion.
